An algorithmic approach to finding factorial designs with generalized minimum aberration
AbstractFactorial designs are arguably the most widely used designs in scientific investigations. Generalized minimum aberration (GMA) and uniformity are two important criteria for evaluating both regular and non-regular designs. The generation of GMA designs is a non-trivial problem due to the sequential optimization nature of the criterion.

Generalized minimum aberration mixed-level orthogonal arrays: A general approach based on sequential integer quadratically constrained quadratic programming [PDF]
Orthogonal Fractional Factorial Designs and in particular Orthogonal Arrays are frequently used in many fields of application, including medicine, engineering and agriculture. In this paper we present a methodology and an algorithm to find an orthogonal array, of given size and strength, that satisfies the generalized minimum aberration criterion.

Construction of minimum generalized aberration two-level orthogonal arrays [PDF]
In this paper we explore the problem of constructing two-level Minimum Generalized Aberration (MGA) orthogonal arrays with strength $t$, $n$ runs and $q>t$ columns, using a method that employs the $J$-characteristics of a two-level design. General results for the construction of MGA orthogonal arrays with $t+1$, $t+2$ and $t+3$ columns are given, while

Optical systems with translational invariance [PDF]
The leading order monochromatic aberrations are investigated for the optical systems, which obey single-plane symmetry and translational invariance. These aberrations are classified from the symmetry principles for the wave aberration function. The Fermat's Principle is applied for a system made of generic cylindrical surfaces and a complete set of the

Neural Invertible Variable-degree Optical Aberrations Correction [PDF]
Optical aberrations of optical systems cause significant degradation of imaging quality. Aberration correction by sophisticated lens designs and special glass materials generally incurs high cost of manufacturing and the increase in the weight of optical systems, thus recent work has shifted to aberration correction with deep learning-based post ...

Simulation Based Evaluation of Time Series for Syndromic Surveillance of Cattle in Switzerland
Choosing the syndrome time series to monitor in a syndromic surveillance system is not a straight forward process. Defining which syndromes to monitor in order to maximize detection performance has been recently identified as one of the research ...

Generalized resolution for orthogonal arrays [PDF]
The generalized word length pattern of an orthogonal array allows a ranking of orthogonal arrays in terms of the generalized minimum aberration criterion (Xu and Wu [Ann. Statist. 29 (2001) 1066-1077]).

A trigonometric approach to quaternary code designs with application to one-eighth and one-sixteenth fractions [PDF]
The study of good nonregular fractional factorial designs has received significant attention over the last two decades. Recent research indicates that designs constructed from quaternary codes (QC) are very promising in this regard.

Minimum aberration designs for discrete choice experiments [PDF]
A discrete choice experiment (DCE) is a survey method that givesinsight into individual preferences for particular attributes.Traditionally, methods for constructing DCEs focus on identifyingthe individual effect of each attribute (a main effect ...
