On the rate of convergence of modified \(\alpha\)-Bernstein operators based on q-integers

open access: yesJournal of Numerical Analysis and Approximation Theory, 2022
In the present paper we define a q-analogue of the modified a-Bernstein operators introduced by Kajla and Acar (Ann. Funct. Anal. 10 (4) 2019, 570-582). We study uniform convergence theorem and the Voronovskaja type asymptotic theorem.

Hyperspectral image restoration via hybrid smoothness regularized auto-weighted low-rank tensor ring factorization

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science, 2023
Restoration of hyperspectral images (HSI) is a crucial step in many potential applications as a preprocessing step. Recently, low-rank tensor ring factorization was applied for HSI reconstruction, which has high-order tensors’ powerful and generalized ...

Approximation by One and Two Variables of the Bernstein-Schurer-Type Operators and Associated GBS Operators on Symmetrical Mobile Interval

open access: yesJournal of Function Spaces, 2021
In this article, we purpose to study some approximation properties of the one and two variables of the Bernstein-Schurer-type operators and associated GBS (Generalized Boolean Sum) operators on a symmetrical mobile interval.

On a nonlocal boundary-value problem with constant coefficients for a multidimensional mixed type equation

open access: yesVestnik Samarskogo Gosudarstvennogo Tehničeskogo Universiteta. Seriâ: Fiziko-Matematičeskie Nauki, 2017
In this paper the unique solvability and smoothness of generalized solution of a nonlocal boundary value problem with constant coefficients for the multidimensional mixed type equation of the first kind in Sobolev spaces $W_{2}^{l }(Q)$, ($2\le l $ is ...

Fast stable direct fitting and smoothness selection for Generalized Additive Models [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Existing computationally efficient methods for penalized likelihood GAM fitting employ iterative smoothness selection on working linear models (or working mixed models).

Counting the dimension of splines of mixed smoothness [PDF]

open access: yesAdvances in Computational Mathematics, 2021
AbstractIn this paper, we study the dimension of bivariate polynomial splines of mixed smoothness on polygonal meshes. Here, “mixed smoothness” refers to the choice of different orders of smoothness across different edges of the mesh. To study the dimension of spaces of such splines, we use tools from homological algebra. These tools were first applied

Penalized additive regression for space-time data: a Bayesian perspective [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
We propose extensions of penalized spline generalized additive models for analysing space-time regression data and study them from a Bayesian perspective.

Approximation by bivariate generalized Bernstein–Schurer operators and associated GBS operators

open access: yesAdvances in Difference Equations, 2020
We construct the bivariate form of Bernstein–Schurer operators based on parameter α. We establish the Voronovskaja-type theorem and give an estimate of the order of approximation with the help of Peetre’s K-functional of our newly defined operators ...

Generalized structured additive regression based on Bayesian P-splines [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Generalized additive models (GAM) for modelling nonlinear effects of continuous covariates are now well established tools for the applied statistician. In this paper we develop Bayesian GAM's and extensions to generalized structured additive regression ...

Joint retrieval of aerosol and water-leaving radiance from multispectral, multiangular and polarimetric measurements over ocean [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Measurement Techniques, 2016
An optimization approach has been developed for simultaneous retrieval of aerosol properties and normalized water-leaving radiance (nLw) from multispectral, multiangular, and polarimetric observations over ocean.
