Inverse Problem for a General Bounded Domain inR3 with Piecewise Smooth Mixed BoundaryConditions

International Journal of Theoretical Physics, 2000
The author gives an asymptotic expansion formula for the trace of the heat kernel \(\Theta(t)= \sum^\infty_{\nu=1} \exp(-t\mu_\nu)\) as \(t\to 0^+\), where \(\mu_\nu\) denote the eigenvalues of the Helmholtz equation. The set of boundary conditions under consideration is fairly general including Dirichlet, Neumann, and Robin boundary conditions which ...

Generalized Solution of a Mixed Problem for the Wave Equation with a Nonsmooth Right-Hand Side

Doklady Mathematics
Under minimal conditions on the right side of the wave equation, a generalized solution of the mixed problem is constructed. The solution is presented as a series from the Fourier method, its sum is found. The form of a generalized solution of a mixed problem for an inhomogeneous telegraphic equation is given.
