Characterizations of γ-open sets and locally γ-regular sets are given. We generalize some already established results and answer an open question by giving a characterization to γ-quasi-open sets.

Summary: We introduce and explore generalized open sets namely \(\gamma\)-pre-open and \(\gamma\)-b-open sets in topological spaces. We also explore and investigate the properties and characterizations of \(\gamma\)-b-continuous function, \(\gamma\)-b-irresolute function and \(\gamma\)-b-open(closed) functions.

Various kinds of generalized open sets are studied together in this article. The author considers monotone mappings \(\gamma:\exp X\to \exp X\) (monotone in the sense that \(A\subset B\) implies \(\gamma(a)\subset \gamma(B)\)), and develops properties common to several classes of generalized open sets.

Classifications of generalized index sets of open classes
Journal of Symbolic Logic, 1978The Rice-Shapiro Theorem [4] says that the index set of a class of recursively enumerable (r.e.) sets is r.e. if and only if consists of all sets which extend an element of a canonically enumerable sequence of finite sets. If an index of a difference of r.e. (d.r.e.) sets is defined to be the pair of indices of the r.e.

Learning to Generate the Unknowns as a Remedy to the Open-Set Domain Shift
2022 IEEE/CVF Winter Conference on Applications of Computer Vision (WACV), 2022In many situations, the data one has access to at test time follows a different distribution from the training data. Over the years, this problem has been tackled by closed-set domain adaptation techniques. Recently, open-set domain adaptation has emerged to address the more realistic scenario where additional unknown classes are present in the target ...

Generative-Discriminative Feature Representations for Open-Set Recognition
2020 IEEE/CVF Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR), 2020We address the problem of open-set recognition, where the goal is to determine if a given sample belongs to one of the classes used for training a model (known classes). The main challenge in open-set recognition is to disentangle open-set samples that produce high class activations from known-set samples.
