Stress-strength reliability is a measure to compare the lifetimes of two systems. It is inferred for the two-parameter exponential distribution using generalized order statistics first without constraint on the location and scale parameters, second when ...

In this paper, we study the concomitants of m-dual generalized order statistics (m-DGOS) from Bairamov–Kotz–Becki Farlie–Gumbel–Morgenstern bivariate distributions as an extension of several recent...

CONDITIONAL ORDERING OF GENERALIZED ORDER STATISTICS REVISITED
Probability in the Engineering and Informational Sciences, 2008In this article we investigate less restrictive conditions on the model parameters that enable one to establish the likelihood ratio ordering of one generalized order statistic by conditioning on the right tail of another lower-indexed generalized order statistic. One application of the main results is also presented.

In this article, we study the concomitants of m-generalized order statistics (m-GOS) from iterated Farlie–Gumbel–Morgenstern bivariate distributions, denoted by IFGM as an extension of several recent papers.

Generalized order statistic filters
International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2003The authors explore generalizations of order statistic (OS) filters, a class of finite-width discrete windowing filters defined by linearly weighting the samples in the window according to their natural ordering as real numbers. The concept can be extended by defining generalized ordering rules generating different permutations of the sample prior to ...

STOCHASTIC ORDERINGS BETWEEN SPACINGS OF GENERALIZED ORDER STATISTICS
Probability in the Engineering and Informational Sciences, 2002In this article, we establish stochastic comparisons between normalized spacings of generalized order statistics. These comparisons allow us to extend and unify some results obtained by other authors for ordinary order statistics and record values.

STOCHASTIC COMPARISONS OF GENERALIZED ORDER STATISTICS
Probability in the Engineering and Informational Sciences, 2005In this article, we give several results on (multivariate and univariate) stochastic comparisons of generalized order statistics. We give conditions on the underlying distributions and the parameters on which the generalized order statistics are based, to obtain stochastic comparisons in the stochastic, dispersive, hazard rate, and likelihood ratio ...

Some new results on likelihood ratio ordering and aging properties of generalized order statistics
Communications in Statistics - Theory and Methods, 2020In this article, we first study the likelihood ratio ordering of generalized order statistics (GOS) in both one-sample and two-sample problems. Then, we establish the transmission of the increasing hazard rate and decreasing reversed hazard rate aging ...

ORDERING CONDITIONAL DISTRIBUTIONS OF GENERALIZED ORDER STATISTICS
Probability in the Engineering and Informational Sciences, 2007The concept of generalized order statistics was introduced as a unified approach to a variety of models of ordered random variables. The purpose of this article is to establish the usual stochastic and the likelihood ratio orderings of conditional distributions of generalized order statistics from one sample or two samples, strengthening and ...
