Predicting extreme defects in additive manufacturing remains a key challenge limiting its structural reliability. This study proposes a statistical framework that integrates Extreme Value Theory with advanced process indicators to explore defect–process relationships and improve the estimation of critical defect sizes. The approach provides a basis for

We develop a data‐driven method to derive the mathematical expressions of the Flory–Huggins interaction parameter χ for the swelling behavior of temperature–responsive hydrogels. Starting from initial assumptions of χ, our workflow combines Bayesian optimization, Flory–Rehner theory, and symbolic regression to generate candidate χ expressions.

Inferences for Generalized Pareto Distribution Based on Progressive First-Failure Censoring Scheme
In this article, we consider estimation of the parameters of a generalized Pareto distribution and some lifetime indices such as those relating to reliability and hazard rate functions when the failure data are progressive first-failure censored.

New AI‐Assisted Approach for Expanding the Solution Space: Application to Lattice Structure Design
This work introduces an innovative framework for designing structured materials by ex panding the design space through reparameterization of qualitative variables into continuous structural descriptors. Combined with machine‐learning‐based prediction and multi‐objective optimization, the approach enables the discovery of novel lattice architectures ...

On Generalized Inverse Pareto Family of Distributions: Properties and Applications
In this paper, we propose new families of generalized inverse Pareto distributions using the T-R{Y} framework. Several choices of the distributions for the random variables T and Y give rise to generalized families of the random variable R, which in this

A New Extended Kumaraswamy Generalized Pareto Distribution With Rainfall Application
In this paper, we introduce a new form of Generalized Pareto (GP) distribution which is an extension of Kumaraswamy generalized Pareto (KumGP) distribution based on KM transformation, referred to as KMKGP distribution.

We apply a foundational machine‐learning interatomic potential based on the graph atomic cluster expansion (GRACE) to simulate the commercial Ni‐based single‐crystal superalloy CMSX‐4. Hybrid Monte‐Carlo/molecular dynamics sampling resolves short‐range order in the γ phase and L12 sublattice occupancies in the γ’ phase and connects them to stacking ...

A codesign multiobjective optimization framework was developed to enhance the morphology and controller of a snake‐like robot driven by artificial muscles. It improved planar locomotion, agility, and power efficiency. The approach optimized link geometry and controller gains, revealing that shorter muscles near joints and longer linkages maximize ...

Parameter Estimation Based on Cumulative Kullback–Leibler Divergence
In this paper, we propose some estimators for the parameters of a statistical model based on Kullback–Leibler divergence of the survival function in continuous setting and apply it to type I censored data.
