Life History and Smoltification Shape Genomic Signatures of Thermal Tolerance in Chinook Salmon

open access: yesMolecular Ecology, Volume 35, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Temperature is a key determinant of survival and distribution in ectothermic species, but how variation in thermal resilience is influenced by developmental transitions, life‐history strategies, and their interaction with population‐specific genomic variation is poorly understood.

Systematic Review on the Impact of Climate Change on Soil Properties: Implications for Sustainable Land Management

open access: yesApplied and Environmental Soil Science, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Climate change significantly affects soil properties, posing challenges for sustainable land management. This review synthesizes recent findings on the impact of climate change rising temperatures, altered precipitation patterns, and an increased frequency of extreme weather events—on key soil attributes, including organic carbon content, pH, bulk ...

$\rho$ meson generalized parton distributions in the Nambu--Jona-Lasinio model

open access: yes, 2022
In this paper, both the unpolarized and the polarized $\rho$ meson generalized parton distributions are investigated in the framework of the Nambu--Jona-Lasinio model using proper time regularization scheme.

Instanton effects in twist-3 generalized parton distributions

open access: yesPhysics Letters B
The instanton vacuum picture is used to study hadronic matrix elements of the twist-3 (dimension-4, spin-1) QCD operators measuring the quark spin density and spin-orbit correlations.

An Overview of Scale Invariance in Proton Structure With Holographic Insights

open access: yesAdvances in High Energy Physics, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
The concept of self‐similarity in the internal structure of the proton, rooted in scale invariance and fractal geometry, provides an intriguing framework for understanding the behavior of parton distribution functions (PDFs), particularly in the small x region probed in deep inelastic scattering (DIS).

Assessment of Spatial and Temporal Nitrate Dynamics in a Medium‐Sized Watershed Using SWAT‐RIVE

open access: yesHydrological Processes, Volume 39, Issue 12, December 2025.
Nitrate dynamics in a catchment with multiple anthropogenic pressures were evaluated with SWAT‐RIVE. The results show that 54% of soil nitrate is removed by denitrification, mainly in agricultural areas and wetlands, 8.5% of nitrate inputs to soils reach the river system, and 1.7% is removed by in‐stream processes.

Composition and conservation status of rays sold in Baja California Sur, Mexico

open access: yesConservation Science and Practice, Volume 7, Issue 12, December 2025.
An analysis of the species composition of ray species sold under a general label in La Paz, Baja California, Sur Mexico. DNA barcode sequencing of the CO1 gene was utilized to assess ray filets, and species identification was compared to IUCN Red List to understand the vulnerability status of ray species being sold.

Increased Retention of Litter‐Derived Organic Carbon With Increasing Initial Carbon Content in Temperate Agricultural Soils

open access: yesGlobal Change Biology, Volume 31, Issue 12, December 2025.
This study examined how much new carbon soils can store by evaluating 21 agricultural soils that ranged from low to high organic carbon. We found that soils already rich in organic carbon retained more of the added plant‐derived carbon because microbes decomposed less of it, and that mineral surfaces did not limit the formation of new stable carbon ...
