Marginalized zero-inflated generalized Poisson regression

Journal of Applied Statistics, 2017
The generalized Poisson (GP) regression model has been used to model count data that exhibit over-dispersion or under-dispersion. The zero-inflated GP (ZIGP) regression model can additionally handle count data characterized by many zeros. However, the parameters of ZIGP model cannot easily be used for inference on overall exposure effects.

Generalized poisson regression for positive count data

Communications in Statistics - Simulation and Computation, 1997
This paper suggests a flexible parametrization of the generalized Poisson regression, which is likely to be particularly useful when the sample is truncated at zero. Suitable specification tests for this case are also studied. The use of the models and tests suggested is illustrated with an application to the number of recreational fishing trips taken ...

Analysis of Rates Using a Generalized Poisson Regression Model

Biometrical Journal, 1993
AbstractIn this paper a generalization of the Poisson regression model indexed by a shape parameter is proposed for the analysis of life table and follow‐up data with concomitant variables. The model is suitable for analysis of extra‐Poisson variation data. The model is used to fit the survival data given in Holford (1980).

Score test for testing Poisson regression against generalized Poisson alternatives

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2013
Poisson regression model has been considered as a standard method for modeling count data. However, count data often display overdispersion, and thus, negative binomial (NB) regression model has been suggested for handling overdispersed count data. In addition, generalized Poisson (GP) regression model has been proposed for handling both over- and ...

Restricted generalized poisson regression model

Communications in Statistics - Theory and Methods, 1993
The family of generalized Poisson distribution has been found useful in describing over-dispersed and under-dispersed count data. We propose the use of restricted generalized Poisson regression model to predict a response variable affected by one or more explanatory variables.
