Characterization of plant material conserved in germplasm banks allows the study and analysis of the genetic variability within a collection. When germplasm banks have a large number of accessions, field evaluation should be performed using assays ...

An improved ICP algorithm based on Generalized Procrustes Analysis [PDF]
Point cloud registration often use ICP algorithm to match ,which is the classic algorithm of point cloud registration, due to the presence of some defects in ICP algorithm, scholars later have done a lot of improvements. In this paper, we firstly view the traditional ICP algorithms, then we propose the Procrustes analysis into the ICP algorithm for ...

Procrustean pseudo‐landmark methods in Python to measure massive quantities of leaf shape data [PDF]
Premise When examining leaf shapes that are different from one another, it can be difficult to compare both the overall leaf shape and points along the leaf margin in biologically and statistically meaningful ways.

The aim of this study is to evaluate the relationships between some sexual behaviours and physiological traits such as serum testosterone concentration, body weight loss and presence of horns of yearling bucks using Generalized Procrustes Analysis (GPA). In the study, 11 yearling bucks being sexually in- experienced were used.

Sexual Shape Variation and Allometric Effects in Guinea Pig (Cavia porcellus) Skulls [PDF]
The skull provides essential diagnostic features for species identification and sex determination. Cranial sexual dimorphism in guinea pigs (Cavia porcellus) is particularly important to understand, as these animals are frequently used in experimental ...

Biplots of Free-Choice Profile Data in Generalized Orthogonal Procrustes Analysis [PDF]
Summary Free-choice profiling is a technique that is used in sensory studies whereby assessors are allowed to describe products by using their own preferred descriptors and own number of descriptors. We show how a study of this type on eight varieties of port wine can be analysed and, in particular, how to associate the descriptors of ...

Quality and Sensory Evaluation for Goat Meat Using Generalized Procrustes Analysis [PDF]
The aim of this study was to examine relationships among experts, sex, genotypes and sensory variables by Procrustes analysis. About 10 meat samples involved different genotypes and sex were evaluated by 12 expert assessors for four sensory characteristics (color, texture, taste-odor and acceptability).

Perturbation Theory for Generalized Procrustes Analysis
SUMMARY Perturbation theory for Procrustes statistics is developed when both configurations are subject to independent normal errors. The total sum of squares is shown to partition into sums of squares for translation, rotation/reflection and scaling, plus a residual. These results are extended to generalized Procrustes analysis.

Generalized Procrustes Analysis: A Tool for Exploring Aggregates and Persons
Gower (1975) introduced Generalized Procrustes Analysis (GPA) as a multivariate statistical technique for analyzing three-dimensional data matrices. The current paper presents a non-technical introduction to the logic underlying GPA and then presents a completely worked example using genuine data.
