l‐threo‐d‐galacto‐Octitol: a curious non‐classical order–disorder polytype with an 88 Å axis

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section B, Volume 82, Issue 3, Page 352-359, June 2026.
The sugar alcohol l‐threo‐d‐galacto‐octitol crystallizes in a structure with P43212 pseudo‐symmetry and a highly elongated unit cell (c ≈ 88 Å). In distinct layers of the structure, symmetry is broken by an asymmetric hydrogen‐bonding network leading to polytypism, which is discussed in the framework of order–disorder theory.GalC8 [l‐threo‐d‐galacto ...

Occurrence of a Cavity‐Nesting Tropical Swallow Is Associated to Riverbed Lithology

open access: yesAustral Ecology, Volume 51, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Understanding the factors shaping species distribution is a key challenge in ecology and biogeography. While dispersal limitations, environmental features, and biotic interactions are commonly recognized as key determinants of species abundance and distribution, some species exhibit patchy distributions that remain hard to explain.

A systematic review and meta‐analysis on the relationship of eco‐emotions on the mental health and wellbeing of young adults

open access: yesApplied Psychology: Health and Well-Being, Volume 18, Issue 3, June 2026.
Abstract This paper systematically reviews the literature on levels of eco‐emotions reported by young adults (aged 18–29) across nations, with meta‐analyses of associations between eco‐anxiety and mental health outcomes. Fourteen databases were searched for relevant studies.

Rapid and Intense Declines of Forest Connectivity in the Amazon Arc of Deforestation Over Four Decades

open access: yesGlobal Change Biology, Volume 32, Issue 6, June 2026.
Deforestation increased landscape fragmentation between 1990 and 2020. Ecological distance thresholds constrain gap crossing, seed dispersal, and pollen dispersal. Functional connectivity declined over time, while landscape modularity increased. ABSTRACT The Amazon Arc of Deforestation is facing a silent decline in ecological functionality.

Impact of Zirconia Three‐Unit Resin‐Bonded Fixed Partial Dentures in the Posterior Region on Oral Health‐Related Quality of Life: A 12‐Month Longitudinal Observation

open access: yesJournal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry, Volume 38, Issue 6, Page 1236-1242, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Patient‐reported outcome measures (PROMs) remain limited in prosthodontics, including for ceramic resin‐bonded fixed partial dentures (RBFPDs), despite their growing relevance in minimally invasive practice. Oral health–related quality of life (OHRQoL) can be reliably assessed using the validated Oral Health Impact Profile −14 ...
