A generalized Schur complement for nonnegative operators on linear spaces [PDF]
Extending the corresponding notion for matrices or bounded linear operators on a Hilbert space we define a generalized Schur complement for a non-negative linear operator mapping a linear space into its dual and derive some of its properties.

Idempotent operator and its applications in Schur complements on Hilbert C*-module
The present study proves that TT is an idempotent operator if and only if R(I−T∗)⊕R(T)=X{\mathcal{ {\mathcal R} }}\left(I-{T}^{\ast })\oplus {\mathcal{ {\mathcal R} }}\left(T)={\mathcal{X}} and (T∗T)†=(T†)2T{\left({T}^{\ast }T)}^{\dagger }={\left({T ...

Schur Complement-Based Infinity Norm Bounds for the Inverse of GDSDD Matrices
Based on the Schur complement, some upper bounds for the infinity norm of the inverse of generalized doubly strictly diagonally dominant matrices are obtained. In addition, it is shown that the new bound improves the previous bounds.

Schur complement of general H‐matrices [PDF]
AbstractIt is well known that the Schur complement of some H‐matrices is an H‐matrix. In this paper, the Schur complement of any general H‐matrix is studied. In particular, it is proved that the Schur complement, if it exists, is an H‐matrix and the class to which the Schur complement belongs is studied.

Results on Resistance Distance and Kirchhoff Index of Graphs With Generalized Pockets
F, Hv are considered simple connected graphs on n and m + 1 vertices, and v is a specified vertex of Hv and u1, u2, … uk ∈ F. The graph G = G[F, u1, … , uk, Hv] is called a graph with k pockets, obtained by taking one copy of F and k copies of Hv and ...

Hypo-EP Matrices of Adjointable Operators on Hilbert C∗-Modules
This paper introduces and studies hypo-EP matrices of adjointable operators on Hilbert C∗-modules, based on the generalized Schur complement. The necessary and sufficient conditions for some modular operator matrices to be hypo-EP are given, and some ...

A Finite Element-Based Characteristic Mode Analysis
A novel Green’s function-free characteristic modes formulation is introduced in this work. The desired impedance or admittance matrix is obtained utilizing and appropriately modifying the versatile finite element method.

Scalable Block Preconditioners for Linearized Navier-Stokes Equations at High Reynolds Number
We review a number of preconditioners for the advection-diffusion operator and for the Schur complement matrix, which, in turn, constitute the building blocks for Constraint and Triangular Preconditioners to accelerate the iterative solution of the ...
