Uniform Labeled Transition Systems for Nondeterministic, Probabilistic, and Stochastic Processes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Rate transition systems (RTS) are a special kind of transition systems introduced for defining the stochastic behavior of processes and for associating continuous-time Markov chains with process terms. The transition relation assigns to each process, for

Generalized speed limits for classical stochastic systems and their applications to relaxation, annealing, and pumping processes

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2023
We extend the speed limit of a distance between two states evolving by different generators for quantum systems [K. Suzuki and K. Takahashi, Phys. Rev. Res.

Summability of stochastic processes—A generalization of integration for non-linear processes

open access: yesJournal of Econometrics, 2014
The order of integration is valid to characterize linear processes; but it is not appropriate for non-linear worlds. We propose the concept of summability (a re-scaled partial sum of the process being O-p(1)) to handle non-linearities. The paper shows that this new concept, S (delta): (i) generalizes I (delta); (ii) measures the degree of persistence ...

A general definition of influence between stochastic processes [PDF]

open access: yesLifetime Data Analysis, 2009
We extend the study of weak local conditional independence (WCLI) based on a measurability condition made by Commenges and Gégout-Petit (2009) to a larger class of processes that we call D'. We also give a definition related to the same concept based on certain likelihood processes, using the Girsanov theorem.

All‐in‐One Analog AI Hardware: On‐Chip Training and Inference with Conductive‐Metal‐Oxide/HfOx ReRAM Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An all‐in‐one analog AI accelerator is presented, enabling on‐chip training, weight retention, and long‐term inference acceleration. It leverages a BEOL‐integrated CMO/HfOx ReRAM array with low‐voltage operation (<1.5 V), multi‐bit capability over 32 states, low programming noise (10 nS), and near‐ideal weight transfer.

Measurement of definite integral product of two more signals using two-bit ADCs [PDF]

open access: yesZbornik Radova: Elektrotehnički Institut "Nikola Tesla", 2012
This paper presents the two-bit stochastic converter theory of operation. This converter could be used for the precise measurement of the effective (root-mean-square) value of voltage, current, electric power or energy and thus, could be applicable to ...

Spatially Regulated Silicon Clusters in Trimodal Composite Anodes for High‐Energy Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A trimodal anode architecture spatially regulates silicon clusters within confined interstitial environments formed by graphite and contorted hexabenzocoronene. This confinement suppresses silicon aggregation and localized stress while enabling efficient Li‐ion transport, achieving high‐capacity, stable lithium‐ion batteries.

Parallel implementation of stochastic simulation for large-scale cellular processes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Experimental and theoretical studies have shown the importance of stochastic processes in genetic regulatory networks and cellular processes. Cellular networks and genetic circuits often involve small numbers of key proteins such as transcriptional ...

Some Generalized Entropy Ergodic Theorems for Nonhomogeneous Hidden Markov Models

open access: yesMathematics
Entropy measures the randomness or uncertainty of a stochastic process, and the entropy rate refers to the limit of the time average of entropy.
