A generalized steepest descent method for continuously subdifferentiable functions

Optimization, 1994
A class of methods for unconstrained minimization of quasidifferentiable, especially subdifferentiable functions is described, which includes well-known algorithms as special cases. Moreover, it is shown that an algorithm previously published fails to converge to an e-inf-stationary point in general. Some preliminary numerical results are reported on.

Attractors of periodic systems generated by time-dependent subdifferentials

Nonlinear Analysis: Theory, Methods & Applications, 1999
In this very important work, attractors of periodic systems generated by time-dependent subdifferentials is examined. The authors deal (firstly) with the periodic system \[ \dot u(t)+\partial \varphi^t_p \bigl(u (t) \bigr)+ g_p\bigl(t,u(t) \bigr)\ni f_p(t)\text{ in }H,\;t\geq s,\leqno{(P)_s} \] where \(\varphi_p^t\) is a \(T_0\)-periodic proper l.s.c ...

On generalized $$\epsilon $$ ϵ -subdifferential and radial epiderivative of set-valued mappings

Optimization Letters, 2013
Le \(X\) be a real normed space, \(Y\) a real normed space ordered by a convex cone \(K\), and \(F:X\rightarrow2^{Y}\) a set-valued mapping. By using radial epiderivatives, the notion of generalized \(\varepsilon\) -subdifferential of \(F\) is introduced.

On generalized conjugations and subdifferentials in abstract convex analysis

Optimization, 2009
We generalize the notion of a duality , where U and V are two complete lattices, to arbitrary partially ordered sets U and V. Then we consider abstract subdifferentials corresponding to such type of dualities and formulate conditions for the global minimum of a function in terms of these subdifferentials.

Analysis of Generalized Conditional Joints as Subdifferential Constitutive Models

Mechanics of Structures and Machines, 1987
ABSTRACT The elements of a body whose stresses or strains or their combinations are governed by prescribed conditions are termed conditional joints. During a loading process, new contacts develop (locking of gaps) or existing connections become ineffective (plastification), causing physical nonlinearity of the body.

An extension to sets of supernormal cones and generalized subdifferential

Optimization, 1994
In this research work we present some considerations concerning the supernormal (nuclear) cones. remarkable examples, a proper extension to sets of the supernormality and its immediate connections with an apprupriatc cunccpt of generalized ...
