A generating function of the squares of Legendre polynomials
We relate a one-parametric generating function for the squares of Legendre polynomials to an arithmetic hypergeometric series whose parametrisation by a level 7 modular function was recently given by Shaun Cooper. By using this modular parametrisation we

Cryptochrome and PAS/LOV proteins play intricate roles in circadian clocks where they act as both sensors and mediators of protein–protein interactions. Their ubiquitous presence in signaling networks has positioned them as targets for small‐molecule therapeutics. This review provides a structural introduction to these protein families.

A Generating Function for Fatgraphs
We study a generating function for the sum over fatgraphs with specified valences of vertices and faces, inversely weighted by the order of their symmetry group. A compact expression is found for general (i.e. non necessarily connected) fatgraphs.

This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Generating Focused Molecule Libraries for Drug Discovery with Recurrent Neural Networks
In de novo drug design, computational strategies are used to generate novel molecules with good affinity to the desired biological target. In this work, we show that recurrent neural networks can be trained as generative models for molecular structures ...

Explicit expression for the generating function counting Gessel's walks [PDF]
Gessel's walks are the planar walks that move within the positive quadrant $\mathbb{Z}_{+}^{2}$ by unit steps in any of the following directions: West, North-East, East and South-West.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

The Weak Bruhat Order and Separable Permutations [PDF]
In this paper we consider the rank generating function of a separable permutation $\pi$ in the weak Bruhat order on the two intervals $[\text{id}, \pi]$ and $[\pi, w_0]$, where $w_0 = n,(n-1),..., 1$. We show a surprising result that the product of these
