Modelling stem cell differentiation related processes—A practical overview for biologists

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Stem cell differentiation is complex and difficult to control experimentally. This review introduces suitable computational modelling approaches that can support stem cell research, from mechanistic ODE and abstract models to multiscale and deep learning methods.

Hierarchical optimization scheduling for joint flood discharge and power generation of hydropower stations coupled with water level control rules

open access: yesShui kexue jinzhan
To address the problems associated with increases in decision variable dimensions due to the need to consider gate operations and water level control at the end of scheduling in the joint optimization scheduling of hydropower station flood discharge and ...

Design and analysis strategies for robust microbiome ageing research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The gut microbiome changes with age and associates with age‐related morbidity and mortality, establishing it as a potential biomarker and intervention target for ageing. Realising this potential requires methodological rigour, yet distinguishing biological signals from methodological artefacts remains challenging across cohorts. This review provides an

Automatic generation of self-scheduling programs [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems, 1991
Techniques are described for the automatic generation of self-scheduling parallel programs. Both scheduling algorithms and the concurrent components of applications are expressed in a high-level concurrent language. Partitioning and data dependency information are expressed by simple control statements, which may be generated either automatically or ...

ABL kinase‐dependent phosphorylation of SH proteins promotes their direct interaction with CRK family SH2 domains

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK) and CRK‐Like (CRKL) are signaling adaptors driving cell adhesion, motility, differentiation, and proliferation. SH2‐domain containing (SH) proteins are enriched in YXXP motifs which when phosphorylated create preferred binding sites for CRK family SH2 domains.

A Survey of Radio Resource Scheduling for 6G and Future Wireless Networks

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society
The evolution of wireless communication is rapidly advancing beyond Fifth Generation (5G) systems toward Sixth Generation (6G) and future network paradigms. These networks aim to deliver unprecedented data rates, ultra-reliable low-latency communication (

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Study on Optimal Operation of Hydropower Station Group Based on New Electricity Reform and Deviation Assessment

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
The new electricity system reform has brought power generation companies into the market, and the scheduling target of cascade hydropower stations has been transformed from maximizing power generation to maximizing revenue.

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Multi-Time-Scale Optimal Scheduling Strategy for Marine Renewable Energy Based on Deep Reinforcement Learning Algorithm

open access: yesEntropy
Surrounded by the Shandong Peninsula, the Bohai Sea and Yellow Sea possess vast marine energy resources. An analysis of actual meteorological data from these regions indicates significant seasonality and intra-day uncertainty in wind and photovoltaic ...
