The design of a parser generator

Proceedings of the 16th annual Southeast regional conference on - ACM-SE 16, 1978
In this paper we present an algorithm for generating bounded-context parsers using a modified version of Knuth's algorithm for generating LR(k) parsers. We also describe the internal design of a parser generating system capable of constructing the parsing tables for (s,l) bounded-context and LR(1) parsers.

Generative design patterns

Proceedings 17th IEEE International Conference on Automated Software Engineering,, 2002
A design pattern encapsulates the knowledge of object-oriented designers into re-usable artifacts. A design pattern is a descriptive device that fosters software design re-use. There are several reasons why design patterns are not used as generative constructs that support code re-use.

Generalized network design polyhedra [PDF]

open access: possibleNetworks, 2011
AbstractIn recent years, there has been an increased literature on so‐called generalized network design problems (GNDPs), such as the generalized minimum spanning tree problem and the generalized traveling salesman problem. In a GNDP, the node set of a graph is partitioned into “clusters,” and the feasible solutions must contain one node from each ...

General Design Classifications

Journal of the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, 2002
This column described the general design classifications of between-groups, within-subjects, and mixed designs. Remember that in between-groups designs, each participant is in only one group or condition. In within-subjects or repeated-measures designs, on the other hand, each participant receives all the conditions or levels of the independent ...

Research Design: General Designs

American Journal of Health-System Pharmacy, 1980
The conceptual foundations for some of the most widely used research designs are presented, and the various design models are analyzed. Research designs should specify the stimulus and response, the time-order sequence, the sampling and allocation procedures, and the generalized method of analysis.
