A Linear Time-Invariant Generative Model for [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
This paper discusses a solution for the CATS benchmark of time series prediction competition in IJCNN 2004. We constructed a generative model of these benchmark data using a linear time-invariant dynamical system.

Okkhor-Diffusion: Class Guided Generation of Bangla Isolated Handwritten Characters Using Denoising Diffusion Probabilistic Model (DDPM)

open access: yesIEEE Access
Bangla has a unique script with a complex set of characters, making it a fascinating subject of study for linguists and cultural enthusiasts. Unique in some of its similar characters which are only distinguishable by subtle differences in their shapes ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Multiple Texture Boltzmann Machines [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We assess the generative power of the mPoT-model of [10] with tiled-convolutional weight sharing as a model for visual textures by specifically training on this task, evaluating model performance on texture synthesis and inpainting tasks using ...

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Towards a Model-Driven Engineering Approach for Developing Embedded Hard Real-Time Software [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Model-Driven Engineering (MDE) has been advocated as an effective way to deal with today's software complexity. MDE can be seen as an integrative approach combining existing techniques such as Domain-Specific Modeling Languages (DSML) and Transformation ...
