Simple extractors via constructions of cryptographic pseudo-random generators

open access: yes, 2005
Trevisan has shown that constructions of pseudo-random generators from hard functions (the Nisan-Wigderson approach) also produce extractors. We show that constructions of pseudo-random generators from one-way permutations (the Blum-Micali-Yao approach ...

Network abnormalities in generalized anxiety pervade beyond the amygdala-pre-frontal cortex circuit: Insights from graph theory [PDF]

open access: yesPsychiatry Research: Neuroimaging, 2018
Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) has excessive anxiety and uncontrollable worry as core symptoms. Abnormal cerebral functioning underpins the expression and perhaps pathogenesis of GAD:. Studies implicate impaired communication between the amygdala and the pre-frontal cortex (PFC).

Effectiveness of rTMS on Working Memory and Inhibitory Impairments in Patients With Post‐Stroke Executive Deficits

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Considerable efforts have been dedicated to developing effective treatments for post‐stroke executive impairment (PSEI), among which repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) has shown great potential. This study aimed to investigate the therapeutic effects of high‐frequency rTMS on working memory (WM) and response ...

Harnessing Fungal Biowelding for Constructing Mycelium‐Engineered Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Mycelium‐bound composites (MBCs) offer low‐carbon alternatives for construction, yet interfacial bonding remains a critical challenge. This review examines fungal biowelding as a biocompatible adhesive, elucidating mycelium‐mediated interfacial mechanisms and their role in material assembly. Strategies to optimize biowelding are discussed, highlighting

A NEW WIDE-STOPBAND LOW-PASS FILTER WITH GENERALIZED COUPLED-LINE CIRCUIT AND ANALYTICAL THEORY [PDF]

open access: yesProgress In Electromagnetics Research, 2011
A generalized coupled-line circuit is introduced to construct a wide-stopband low-pass fllter in this paper. This circuit conflguration includes two-section coupled lines and a connected transmission-line stub. Due to the symmetry of this proposed structure, closed-form equations for scattering parameters are investigated.
