"New lamps for old!" (generalized multiple-valued neurons)
Proceedings 1999 29th IEEE International Symposium on Multiple-Valued Logic (Cat. No.99CB36329), 2003Contributions to multiple-valued threshold logic in the seventies are reviewed at the light of developments in the area of artificial neural networks. It is shown that it is possible to adapt methods of design of feedforward neural networks to generate networks of multiple-valued neurons to realize any multiple-valued function.

Dislocation Generation and Propagation during Flash Lamp Annealing
ECS Journal of Solid State Science and Technology, 2015Dislocation generation and propagation during flash lamp annealing for 20 ms was investigated using wafers with sawed, ground, and etched surfaces. Due to the thermal stress resulting from the temperature profiles generated by the flash pre-existing dislocations propagate into the wafer from both surfaces during flash lamp annealing. A dislocation free

Flashing and sound generating lamp
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1980A flashing and sound generating lamp that repeats on-off operation and generates a characteristic audible sound when an electric current is supplied to the lamp. The lamp comprises a thermally bendable member connected in series or in parallel with the lamp filament to effect on-off energization of the filament as a result of the bending of the member ...

The generation of light by chemical reactions in flash lamps
Symposium (International) on Combustion, 1969In conventional combustion flash lamps the reaction between zirconium and oxygen is utilized to obtain a quantity of light. The spectral distribution is similar to that for blackbody radiation at about 4000°K. It is to be expected that larger quantities of light will be emitted if reactions leading to higher temperatures are used.

Constraints generated by fluorescents lamps on the electrical network
Conference Record of the 2002 IEEE Industry Applications Conference. 37th IAS Annual Meeting (Cat. No.02CH37344), 2003The necessities imposed by the European rules for energy conservation has led to an increase of fluorescent lighting. If this method is interesting in terms of lighting, from the electrical point of view, the discharge of the gas or the peripheral constituents necessary to the working (ballast, starters etc.) are harmonic generators of power and ...

Generation of Light by Fluorine Reactions in Flash Lamps
Angewandte Chemie International Edition in English, 1964In conventional combustion flash lamps the reaction between zirconium and oxygen is utilised for obtaining a luminous flux. The spectral distribution shows similarity to that radiated by a black body at 3900 "K. Methods of selection of reactions leading to higher temperatures and results of experiments are given.

Limiting Parameters and Generalized Characteristics of Xenon Lamps
Applied Optics, 1963The development of any optical pumping system depends on the knowledge of the possibilities of lamps offered for use. This paper contains generalized data on the maximum load of lamp seals and tube walls (both flash and continuous light), single-flash or repeated operation, at different cooling conditions.
