Human‐Scale Rotating Magnetic Field Delivery With Permanent Magnets Under Anatomic and Robotic Constraints

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Rotating magnetic fields (RMFs) are widely used for microrobot propulsion and control. We show that RMF generation with permanent magnets is mechanically feasible for many limb and intracranial applications but becomes constrained for thoracic targets.

The Value of Generative AI for Qualitative Research: A Pilot Study

open access: yesJournal of Data Science and Intelligent Systems
This mixed-methods approach study investigates the potential of introducing generative AI (ChatGPT 4 and Bard) as part of a deductive qualitative research design that requires coding, focusing on possible gains in cost-effectiveness, coding throughput time, and inter-coder reliability (Cohen’s Kappa). This study involved semi-structured interviews with

Multi‐Targeting Carnosic Acid Kills Drug‐Resistant Helicobacter pylori With Narrow‐Spectrum Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Carnosic acid selectively eradicates drug‐resistant Helicobacter pylori through a multi‐targeted mechanism involving urease inhibition, membrane disruption, and biofilm eradication. It exhibits no detectable resistance, potent in vivo efficacy, and minimal impact on gut microbiota, positioning it as a promising narrow‐spectrum lead compound against ...

“Navigating Bachelor (generic) graduate nurses’ views about one-year internship program: a qualitative descriptive study related to role transition”

open access: yesInternational Journal of Endorsing Health Science Research, 2019
Background: On completing the graduate study, nurses require to be posted for a one-year internship program (IP). In other words, it is a form of ‘transition or a change in a role.' As health care professionals, role transition is an inevitable, constant

Tandem Duplication‐Driven Neofunctionalization of UDP‐Glycosyltransferases Shapes the Diversification of Triterpenoid Saponins in the Cucurbitaceae

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We present a chromosome‐level genome assembly of Siraitia grosvenorii and, through comparative genomics, uncover a conserved UGT73 tandem array driving triterpenoid saponin diversification in Cucurbitaceae. Crystalized SgUGT73AM30 further reveals the regioselectivity mechanism underlying its catalytic activity.

Magnetotransport Signatures of Spin–Orbit Coupling in High‐Temperature Cuprate Superconductors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Large angle‐dependent magnetoresistance and planar Hall effects emerge at the superconducting transition of YBa2Cu3O7−x$\mathrm{YBa_2Cu_3O_{7-x}}$ thin films. These anomalous transport signatures, absent in the normal state, point to spin‐polarized quasiparticle dynamics enabled by an unexpected spin–orbit coupling landscape in cuprate superconductors,

Quality criteria and generalization of results from qualitative studies

open access: yesInternational Journal of Qualitative Studies on Health and Well-being, 2013
A fundamental aim of all qualitative studies is to take the perspective of others and therewith to experience meanings, situations and actions through the eyes of others. This demands data from relatively small strategically selected study groups, in addition to empathy, openness and sensitivity in the researchers.
