Halide‐Dependent Photoluminescence and Heavy‐Atom Effects in Low‐Melting Organic–Inorganic Manganese Halides

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Two pyridinium‐based ionic liquid templated hybrid manganese halides, (C4Py)2[MnCl4] and (C4Py)2[MnBr4], display similar bulk structures but show significantly different photoluminescence behaviors due to the bromine heavy‐atom effect. Their stable local Mn environments remain intact even in the molten state, allowing applications such as luminescence ...

Diagnosis, testing, treatment, and outcomes among patients with advanced non‐small cell lung cancer in the United States

open access: yesCancer Medicine, 2023
Introduction Characteristics of patients in clinical trials may differ from those of real‐world patients. Our objective was to describe biomarker testing and outcomes among patients with advanced non‐small cell lung cancer (aNSCLC) in a real‐world ...

Impact of large-scale dynamic versus thermodynamic climate conditions on contrasting tropical cyclone genesis frequency [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Significant advances have been made in understanding the key climate factors responsible for tropical cyclone (TC) activity, yet any theory that estimates likelihood of observed TC formation rates from mean climate states remains elusive.

3D Soft Hydrogels Induce Human Mesenchymal Stem Cells “Deep” Quiescence

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Three‐dimensional soft hydrogels mimicking the bone marrow niche induce deep quiescence in human mesenchymal stem cells. Unlike 2D culture, 3D matrices halt proliferation, regulate cell‐cycle and quiescence markers, and downregulate mTORC1 signaling, preserving stem cell phenotype and therapeutic potential ex vivo.

The impact of different censoring methods for analyzing survival using real-world data with linked mortality information: a simulation study

open access: yesBMC Medical Research Methodology
Background Evaluating outcome reliability is critical in real-world evidence studies. Overall survival is a common outcome in these studies; however, its capture in real-world data (RWD) sources is often incomplete and supplemented with linked mortality ...

A Score-Based Rapid Screening and Network Visualization Method Based on Bioactive Ingredient-Induced Variations in Skin Cell Gene Expression

open access: yesScientia Pharmaceutica
Bioactive ingredients are compounds, typically derived from natural sources, that provide specific health benefits or perform certain beneficial functions. Although they can play a role in maintaining good health, their effects can vary widely based on a

Mitochondrial Transplantation via Magnetically Responsive Artificial Cells Promotes Intracerebral Hemorrhage Recovery by Supporting Microglia Immunological Homeostasis

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 37, Issue 13, April 2, 2025.
A type of magnetically responsive artificial cells (ACs) has been developed, demonstrating the loading of mitochondria and self‐enclosure processes to ensure the protection of mitochondrial transport via the bloodstream. The treatment with ACs effectively transplanted mitochondria around the lesion, thereby improving neurological recovery by supporting
