The literary archives of Wincenty Różański in view of the assumptions of genetic criticism

open access: yesBiblioteka, 2017
The author discusses the literary output of Wincenty Różański presenting it as appropriate study material for genetic criticism. Genetic criticism is one of the most interesting approaches to the interpretation of texts and to the reconstruction of ...

Co-occurring risk factors for alcohol dependence and habitual smoking. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Smoking and alcohol dependence frequently occur together, and both behaviors are determined in part by genetic influences. The Collaborative Study on the Genetics of Alcoholism (COGA), which is investigating the genetic factors contributing to alcohol ...

Integrating Patient‐Reported Quality Measures in SLE: Development of the American College of Rheumatology Implementation Guide

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objective To support high‐quality, patient‐centered care for systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) developed evidence‐based measures incorporating clinical and patient‐reported outcomes measures (PROMs). Using the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research (CFIR), we conducted semi‐structured interviews ...

327. Genetic Editing for Huntington's Disease [PDF]

open access: yesMolecular Therapy, 2016
Huntington's disease (HD) is a neurodegenerative disorder caused by a pathological CAG expansion at the 3’ end of the first exon of the huntingtin gene (HTT). Currently, there is no efficient treatment for HD. Editing of the mutant HTT gene with the Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats (CRISPR) system represents a new and promising

Achieving High ON State Current through Ferroelectric Polarization‐Dependent Interfacial Resistance Switching in Undoped Orthorhombic HfO2 Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ferroelectric tunnel junction devices based on epitaxial undoped ferroelectric HfO2 films demonstrate stable switching endurance of over 106 switching cycles, low write voltages of ±3 V, 16 measured resistance states, and neuromorphic capability.

A placebo-controlled trial of folic acid and betaine in identical twins with Angelman syndrome. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
BackgroundAngelman syndrome (AS) is a neurodevelopmental disorder that is caused by maternal genetic deficiency of a gene that encodes E6-AP ubiquitin-protein ligase (gene symbol UBE3A) mapping to chromosome 15q11-q13.

Biocompatible but Antibacterial Mechanism of Graphene Oxide for Sustainable Antibiotics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Graphene oxide (GO) exhibits selective antibacterial activity through specific interactions between its oxygen functional groups and bacterial membrane phospholipid POPG, causing membrane destabilization while maintaining biocompatibility. Model membrane studies and infected wound models in mice and pigs demonstrate effective bacterial suppression and ...

Record Energy Storage Performance Metrics in Ferroelectric Hafnia‐Based Films through Heterostructure Design

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Dielectric capacitors typically struggle to achieve both high energy storage density and high efficiency at applied voltages below 10 V. Here, we address this challenge by introducing a novel hybrid fluorite/perovskite heterostructure design that combines ultra‐high recoverable energy storage density with efficient energy release (Uf ≈ 1016 J/cm3), at ...
