Morphoagronomic characterization of sweet potato accessions from the germplasm bank of Embrapa hortaliças

open access: yesBioscience Journal, 2019
Studies on the determination of genetic divergence among genotypes are important tools in breeding programs, contributing to the identification of parents with considerable productive potential.

Genetic variation in competition traits at different ages and time periods and correlations with traits at field tests of 4-year-old Swedish Warmblood horses

open access: yesAnimal, 2010
For many years, the breeding value estimation for Swedish riding horses has been based on results from Riding Horse Quality Tests (RHQTs) of 4-year-olds only. Traits tested are conformation, gaits and jumping ability.

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Adaptor protein CIN85 potentiates the motility of osteosarcoma cells via the Akt/mTOR and MMP2‐COL3A1 axis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CIN85 is highly expressed in osteosarcoma, particularly in metastatic lesions. Its overexpression increases cell migration and Matrigel invasion, while silencing CIN85 suppresses these behaviors. Transcriptome analysis shows that CIN85 regulates MMP2, COL3A1, and Akt/mTOR signaling. Targeting these pathways reverses CIN85‐induced motility, highlighting

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

Genetic layout and genetic structure of the greenhouse whitefly Trialeurodes vaporariorum from Serbia [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Trialeurodes vaporariorum Westwood (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae), a haplo-diploid sap feeding insect species, is a vector of many plant viruses and a serious polyphagous pest of greenhouse-grown vegetables and ornamental plants worldwide.

Estimation of Genetic Parameters for Early Growth Traits in Luzhong Mutton Sheep

open access: yesAnimals
In this study, six different animal models were fitted, and the constrained maximum likelihood method was used to assess the genetic parameters and genetic trends of early growth traits in Luzhong mutton sheep.

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

VARIABILIDAD GENÉTICA EN SEMILLAS DE ÁRBOLES INDIVIDUALES DE Tectona grandis L.f. EN LA CONFORMACIÓN DE LOTES MEZCLADOS EN CÓRDOBA, COLOMBIA

open access: yesRevista U.D.C.A Actualidad & Divulgación Científica, 2013
Para determinar el impacto del aporte individual de cada árbol en lotes mezclados, las implicaciones en la variabilidad genética de las futuras plantaciones y la estimación de parámetros genéticos para caracteres de germinación y de dimensiones de ...

Circulating tumor cell viability during and after radiotherapy mirrors treatment response in cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Created in BioRender. Wikman, H.
