Monoclonal antibody Cat-301 recognizes a surface-associated proteoglycan on subsets of neurons in the mammalian CNS (Hockfield and McKay, 1983). The expression of Cat-301 immunoreactivity on Y cells in the cat LGN is sharply reduced by early visual ...

Functional representation of vision within the mind: A visual consciousness model based in 3D default space [PDF]
The human eyes and brain, which have finite boundaries, create a ‘‘virtual’’ space within our central nervous system that interprets and perceives a space that appears boundless and infinite.

Explicit and Implicit Processes in Human Aversive Conditioning [PDF]
The ability to adapt to a changing environment is central to an organism’s success. The process of associating two stimuli (as in associative conditioning) requires very little in the way of neural machinery.

Sound offset responses become highly informative in the auditory cortex
Abstract figure legend Using large datasets of neural responses to diverse sounds recorded across four stages of the mouse auditory system (depicted and colour‐coded on the left), offset responses occurring after the termination of each sound (time window indicated by the orange shaded area superimposed with activity traces) were characterized and it ...

The what, which, when, why and who of Off responses in the auditory system
Abstract figure legend In this article, we will first review ‘What’ different mechanisms are involved in the generation of Off responses at the sub‐cortical and cortical level of the auditory system. Then, we evaluate ‘Which’ stimulus properties elicit Off responses at the different levels of the auditory system.

Three and Four Courses of Radiation for Children With Recurrent Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma
ABSTRACT Purpose Re‐irradiation (RT2) for children with diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) is increasingly used upon recurrence; however, limited data are available for evaluating additional courses of radiotherapy (RT) for DIPG. The purpose of this case series was to report our institutional experience in treating patients with recurrent DIPG ...

The projection of the retina in the lateral geniculate body [PDF]
The question of a localization of some degree in the lateral geniculate body in regard to the termination of fibres from different parts of the retina is no longer a matter of discussion. The Classical work of Henschen and Winkler in support of this conception has been amply substantiated by later investigators.

Functional Diversity of Neotropical Aquatic Hyphomycetes: Insights Into Environmental Drivers
Subtropical streams host diverse hyphomycete assemblages than tropical one's. Larger saprotrophs with diverse conidia shapes dominate in subtropical areas. Cold and oxygenated waters have a positive effect on functional diversity. Poor litter in tropical favored the dominance of wood saprotrophs and endophytes.

Immunocytochemical localization of the neuron-specific form of the c-src gene product, pp60c-src(+), in rat brain [PDF]
Neurons express high levels of a variant form of the c-src gene product, denoted pp60c-src(+), which contains a 6 amino acid insert in the amino-terminal half of the c-src protein.
