Prevalence, Predictors and Sexual Health Correlates of Heavy Episodic Drinking Among Females of Reproductive Age in Ghana. [PDF]

Using 2022 Ghana Demographic and Health Survey data from 15,014 females aged 15–49, HED prevalence was 2.1%. Older age, daily smoking and history of terminated pregnancy predicted HED. Multiple extra‐spousal sexual partners and genital discharge are key sexual health correlates. Integrated alcohol–sexual health interventions are recommended.
