Demonstrating sexual selection by cryptic female choice on male genitalia: What is enough?

Evolution; international journal of organic evolution, 2019
Rapid divergence in external genital structures occurs in nearly all animal groups that practice internal insemination; explaining this pattern is a major challenge in evolutionary biology.

Female genitalia are moderately informative for phylogenetic inference and not concerted with male genitalia in Saprininae beetles (Coleoptera: Histeridae)

Systematic Entomology, 2019
Our study – the first of its kind within Histeridae (Coleoptera) – deals with the female genitalia in the subfamily Saprininae, with respect to their variation and utility for phylogenetic reconstruction.

Tumours of the Male Genitalia

1973
Carcinoma of the penis is the most frequently diagnosed cancer in Ugandan men. It usually develops in the coronal sulcus and the incidence is closely correlated with standards of genital hygiene. Circumcision protects against the development of this tumour e0ven if carried out at puberty.

LIPOGRANULOMATA OF MALE GENITALIA

British Journal of Urology, 1967
SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS Two cases of lipogranulomata of the male genitalia are presented. They may present as an acute disease or as a more chronic lesion with symptoms and signs coming on months or years after injection. Often there is no history of injection and the patient is apt to be psychiatrically abnormal.

Gunshot Wounds to the Male Genitalia

The Journal of Trauma: Injury, Infection, and Critical Care, 1995
Fifty consecutive cases of gunshot wounds to the male external genitalia were treated by the Tulane University Urology Service at the Medical Center of Louisiana in New Orleans. Fifty percent of the patients had significant associated injuries. Eight anterior urethral injuries were identified, all by retrograde urethrography.

Primary lipogranuloma of male genitalia

Urology, 1988
Lipogranulomas developing secondarily in the genitourinary system have been reported rather frequently, but primary lipogranulomas without any past history of etiologically related conditions are rare. We report on 2 cases recently encountered in which tumors were diagnosed as sclerosing lipogranuloma on histopathologic examination.

Embryology of the Male External Genitalia

Clinics in Plastic Surgery, 1980
Abnormal embryological development can lead to various anomalies of the male external genitalia. Hypospadias is the result of incomplete masculine development of the genitalia. If the mesenchyme fails to form any of the structures around the urethra, a fibrous band will form, causing chordee. The developmental defect causing exstrophy and epispadias is

Diseases of the Male Genitalia

2000
The diagnosis and treatment of diseases involving the glans and prepuce (foreskin) present formidable clinical problems. First, the number of primary disorders is large. In addition, many common dermatoses, such as psoriasis, lichen planus and scabies, may have genital involvement.

Granulomatous disease of male genitalia

Urology, 1976
Five cases of granulomatous disease of the male genitalia are presented. Of these, 3 cases involved foreign-body reactions in which some form of hydrocarbon was the causative agent. In the other 2 cases, idiopathic granulomatous processes were found, and this condition may be secondary to endogenous lipoid degenerative processes.
