Female genitalia are moderately informative for phylogenetic inference and not concerted with male genitalia in Saprininae beetles (Coleoptera: Histeridae)

Systematic Entomology, 2019
Our study – the first of its kind within Histeridae (Coleoptera) – deals with the female genitalia in the subfamily Saprininae, with respect to their variation and utility for phylogenetic reconstruction.

Ambiguous Genitalia

Pediatrics In Review, 1996
The newborn whose genitalia are ambiguous presents a challenge to the pediatrician and the family. A clear understanding of the basis of sex differentiation and timely consultation with a pediatric endocrinologist is critical in the evaluation and determination of sex of rearing in a newborn who has ambiguous genitalia. Sex karyotype and a 17-OHP level

The Child With Ambiguous Genitalia [PDF]

open access: possibleAJN, American Journal of Nursing, 1977
The infant born with external genitalia that are not clearly male or female is an anatomical, psychological, and social challenge to its parents and to the physicians and nurses who care for the infant and counsel the new parents. A sex assignment must be made promptly, and a plan of management undertaken if the family is to be secure in the community ...

FIGURAS DE GENITALIA/GENITALIA FIGURES

2009
This section presents genitalia illustrations of species in the family Geometridae. The genitalia illustrations are line drawings and cover the species where the genitalias may be useful for the identification. The genital differences of the four Nychiodes taxa recorded from the Iberian Peninsula are very small, and the wing pattern is so similar and ...

A 1-year-old boy was referred to our department with a pseudoduplication of the external genitalia present since birth. At surgery, we performed a complete excision of the mass through a "Y-type" perineal incision. The boy was taken to our department for a regular physical examination 2 years after the surgery. The appearance of the perineal region was

Ambiguous Genitalia in the Neonate

Clinics in Perinatology, 1978
Since sexual disorders can be the result of genetic, hormonal, or gonadal degects, all three components have to be considered in the diagnosis and therapy of infants with ambiguous genitalia. The classification provided should enable the physician to initiate the most appropriate work-up, leading to an early diagnosis and to a decision as to future sex

Evolution and taxonomic significance of the copulatory apparatus in Ensifera (Orthoptera). Part 2: Male genitalia in Grylloidea

, 2015
In the superfamily Grylloidea, the main trends in the evolution of the copulatory apparatus were probably connected with the transformation of simple membranous (hagloid) genitalia, characteristic of ancient groups of Ensifera, into a complicated organ ...

LIPOGRANULOMA OF THE MALE GENITALIA

Australian and New Zealand Journal of Surgery, 1981
A case of lipogranuloma of the external genitalia is presented. The history and histological features suggest that the exogenous lipid was introduced by the topical application of a baby oil used after minor trauma to the penis. Initial treatment by steroids and immunosuppressive agents was followed by complete excision of the granuloma.
