Polypiectropus species (Trichoptera: Polycentropodidae) from China : with consideration of their phylogeny [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Six species of the genus Polyplectropns are recorded from the People's Republic of China. All the species are new to science. A key to the males is given. The larva of Polyplectropns nanjingensis sp. nov. is illustrated.

Coevolution between Male and Female Genitalia in the Drosophila melanogaster Species Subgroup

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
In contrast to male genitalia that typically exhibit patterns of rapid and divergent evolution among internally fertilizing animals, female genitalia have been less well studied and are generally thought to evolve slowly among closely-related species. As

Practical Considerations in the Design and Use of Non‐Crystalline Metal–Organic Frameworks

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review explores the emerging field of non‐crystalline MOFs ‐ amorphous, liquid, and glassy forms ‐ highlighting how they differ from traditional crystalline MOFs. It discusses their unique synthesis strategies, fundamental principles, and diverse applications.

A new genus for the Neotropical species of Aesalus Fabricius, with descriptions of eight new species (Coleoptera: Lucanidae: Aesalinae) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The Neotropical members of the genus Aesalus Fabricius (Coleoptera: Lucanidae: Aesalinae) are transferred to a new genus, Trogellus, due to their morphological dissimilarity and molecular divergence from the Old World species of Aesalus, and the new ...

Increasing the Stability of Deep Blue Phosphor‐Sensitized OLEDs Using the Polariton‐Enhanced Purcell Effect

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The polariton‐enhanced Purcell (PEP) effect is demonstrated to enhance the stability of the deep blue phosphor‐sensitized fluorescent (PSF) OLEDs by 3.1 X compared to PSF diodes lacking this effect. In addition, PSF‐OLEDs exhibit reduced EQE roll‐off and deep blue color emission.

Nearctic \u3ci\u3eAcleris\u3c/i\u3e: Resurrection of \u3ci\u3eA. Stadiana\u3c/i\u3e and a Revised Identity for \u3ci\u3eA. Semiannula\u3c/i\u3e (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Type study showed that Acleris stadiana (Barnes & Busck), currently considered a junior synonym of A. semiannula (Robinson), is in fact a distinct taxon. Although superficially similar, these taxa differ markedly in genital structure.

Fibrous Pressure Sensor with Unique Resistance Increase under Partial Compression: Coaxial Wet‐Spun TiO2/Graphene/Thermoplastic Polyurethane Multi‐Wall Multifunctional Fiber

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
TGTMW fibers are designed to show a sharp resistance increase under pressure, as the multi‐wall structure in the transition region between compressed and uncompressed areas bends and forms microcracks. This design breaks the physical sensitivity limit of conventional fiber‐shaped pressure sensors, which usually show resistance reduction under pressure ...
