ABSTRACT Atopic dermatitis (AD) essentially exhibits dysbiosis of skin fungal microbiome, mycobiome, characterized by depletion of Malassezia. The effects of recent systemic therapies for AD on skin mycobiome were not understood enough. We examined changes of skin mycobiome before and after systemic treatments with anti‐IL‐4Rα antibody (dupilumab: DUP)

Below the leaves: Integrating above‐ and below‐ground phenology for earth‐system predictability
Read the free Plain Language Summary for this article on the Journal blog. Abstract Almost every aspect of biological systems has phenology—a pattern in activity or function linked to annual cycles. Most terrestrial phenology research focusses on leaves, the onset of leaf out or senescence.

Is the endophyte‐based plant protection against aphids mediated by changes in the insect microbiome?
We showed that the fungal endophyte Epichloë strain AR37 increased the plant resistance against aphids via the production of indole diterpene alkaloids. The reduction in aphid performance was not associated with changes in abundance/composition/diversity of the insect's bacterial microbiota, but additional endophyte effects on this microbiota cannot be

Genetic engineering for SIT application: a fruit fly‐focused review
Abstract Sterile insect technique (SIT) has become a key component of efficient pest control. Fruit fly pests from the Drosophilidae and Tephritidae families pose a substantial and overwhelmingly increasing threat to the agricultural industry, aggravated by climate change and globalization among other contributors.
