Mutant NPM1 in Acute Myeloid Leukemia Initiation and Maintenance

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
NPM1 mutations drive acute myeloid leukemia by acting as neomorphic transcriptional regulators that cooperate with Menin–MLL and XPO1 to sustain HOX/MEIS1 expression and block differentiation. Targeting these mutant‐specific transcriptional dependencies provides a rational therapeutic strategy for NPM1‐mutated AML.

Evaluation of the Yield of Giant Miscanthus (Miscanthus × giganteus) and Sugar Miscanthus (Miscanthus sacchariflorus) Intended for Energy Purposes in Variable Habitat Conditions

open access: yesEnergies
This study evaluated the production potential of M. sacchariflorus and M. giganteus depending on plantation age and soil type. The analyses showed that the leaf area index was dependent on the Miscanthus genotype, soil type, and plantation age.

Super‐Refractory Status Epilepticus (SRSE) in a Patient With Compound Heterozygous OPA1 Variants: Case Report and Literature Review

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Super‐Refractory Status Epilepticus (SRSE) is a rare, life‐threatening neurological emergency with unclear etiology in many cases. Mitochondrial dysfunction, often due to disease‐causing genetic variants, is increasingly recognized as a cause, with each gene producing distinct pathophysiological mechanisms.

Genetic Diversity of Canine Circovirus Detected in Wild Carnivores in Serbia

open access: yesVeterinary Sciences
Canine circovirus (CanineCV) is an emerging virus of interest in both domestic and wild carnivores that is scarcely reported in southeastern Europe. This study examined the presence, genetic diversity, and evolutionary characteristics of CanineCV in red ...

Shared Genetic Effects and Antagonistic Pleiotropy Between Multiple Sclerosis and Common Cancers

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Epidemiologic studies have reported inconsistent altered cancer risk in individuals with multiple sclerosis (MS). Factors such as immune dysregulation, comorbidities, and disease‐modifying therapies may contribute to this variability.

Predicting Loss of Ambulation in Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy R9

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Limb girdle muscular dystrophy type R9 (LGMDR9) results from biallelic variants in FKRP. There is limited data to predict loss of ambulation (LOA) among those with LGMDR9. Methods Participants in an ongoing dystroglycanopathy natural history study (NCT00313677) with FKRP variants who had achieved ambulation and were more than 3 ...

FASN, SCD, and PLAG1 Gene Polymorphism and Association with Carcass Traits and Fatty Acid Profile in Hanwoo Cattle

open access: yesAnimals
Genetic polymorphisms have a great impact on enhancing quantitative traits in cattle. In this study, Fatty acid synthase (FASN) g. 16024 (A>G), Stearoyl-CoA desaturase (SCD) g. 10329 (C>T), and pleomorphic adenoma gene (PLAG1) g. 25003338 (C>G) genotypic

Monitoring drought responses of barley genotypes with semi-robotic phenotyping platform and association analysis between recorded traits and allelic variants of some stress genes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Genetic improvement of complex traits such as drought adaptation can be advanced by the combination of genomic and phenomic approaches. Semi-robotic phenotyping platform was used for computer-controlled watering, digital and thermal imaging of barley ...
