Modelling Spoken Genres for Foreign Language Learners

Genre teaching is considered vital for language and literacy pedagogies. Several genre models have been suggested based on various approaches and fitting various goals of teaching genres. In the present chapter I propose a technique of modelling spoken genres for cognitive development of EFL students.

Genre Recognition: A Model of Behaviour

This paper studies the behavioural processes involved in the decision-making process when detecting the genre of Wikipedia pages. We analysed qualitative data collected from a study of Wikipedia search behaviour to evaluate the importance of textual features in these decision-making processes.
