Symbolic Powers of Monomial Ideals [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We investigate symbolic and regular powers of monomial ideals. For a square-free monomial ideal $I$ in $k[x_0, \ldots, x_n]$ we show $I^{t(m+e-1)-e+r)}$ is a subset of $M^{(t-1)(e-1)+r-1}(I^{(m)})^t$ for all positive integers $m$, $t$ and $r$, where $e ...

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

PLEIOTROPIC EFFECTS OF Ss GENES FOR SCALINESS IN COMMON CARP [PDF]

open access: yesCroatian Journal of Fisheries, 1996
Although pleiotrophic effect on N gene in common carp (Cyprinus carpio) are well know and quite significant in some papers even better performances of scaled and mirror carps are reported. In order to determine possible pleiotropic effects of S gene, the

Ice formation in unsaturated frozen soils [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
This paper presents a procedure for determining unfrozen water saturation in a partially saturated frozen soil (clayey silt) using bulk electrical conductivity (EC) measurements.

HIV‐1 establishes immediate latency in T cells expressing the viral Nef protein

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Nef is a viral protein often omitted from HIV‐1 reporter viruses. Consequently, its role in viral latency is unclear. We developed three novel dual reporter HIV‐1 derivatives that express Nef and allow for detection of latent and productive infection. Using these reporters, we show that Nef does not affect the establishment of immediate viral latency ...

Anisotropy effects on the undrained stability of cuts in clays [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
It has long been recognised that soils are generally anisotropic with some of their properties varying depending on the direction of measurement. In particular, strength anisotropy should be a main concern in relation with the stability assessment of ...

Cyclic azapeptide CD36 ligand attenuates cardiac injury and reduces long‐chain fatty acid accumulation after myocardial ischemia–reperfusion in mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

“O Poema como Peça de Exposição”

open access: yesTexto Poético, 2014
Entre 1870 e 1900, o grande destaque concedido ao olhar orientou a construção do discurso urbano e se estendeu aos quadros da poesia brasileira para, sob o patrocínio de um conjunto de preceitos, instaurar uma poética compromissada com a materialização ...

Anti-glioma effect of ginseng-derived exosomes-like nanoparticles by active blood–brain-barrier penetration and tumor microenvironment modulation

open access: yesJournal of Nanobiotechnology, 2023
Inhibition of tumor growth and normalization of immune responses in the tumor microenvironment (TME) are critical issues for improving cancer therapy. However, in the treatment of glioma, effective nanomedicine has limited access to the brain because of ...

Triaxial tests on frozen ground: formulation and modelling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Artificial Ground Freezing (AGF) is a controllable process that can be used by engineers to stabilise temporarily the ground, provide structural support and/or exclude groundwater from an excavation until construction of the final lining provides ...
