Treatment with Minicircle DNA Expressing a FGF23 Fragment in a Clinically relevant Mouse Model of X‐Linked Hypophosphatemic Rickets

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 4, 19 January 2026.
The pathogenic role of PHEX isn't fully determined, and there is no radical cure for X‐linked hypophosphatemic rickets (XLHR). This study makes the first attempt to perform gene therapy using a minicircle DNA (MC‐DNA) vector expressing a fragment of FGF23 (amino acids 180‐251) in Phex‐T1349C mice and suggests MC‐DNA as a promisingly safe and effective ...

Lateral femoral closing wedge osteotomy in genu varum

open access: yesOrthopaedics & Traumatology: Surgery & Research, 2021
The distal femoral valgisation osteotomy has a variety of indications due to enhanced understanding of segmental deformities of the lower limb. Historically, an overall varus deformity was corrected at the tibia, and a valgus deformity at the femur. This approach of performing an "all in the tibia" correction for an overall varus can nevertheless lead ...

Motor competence explains the variance in biomechanical variables related to anterior cruciate ligament injury risk, with distinct predictors for male and female athletes

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Orthopaedics, Volume 13, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract Purpose Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries have consistently been linked to specific kinetic and kinematic patterns, including elevated vertical ground reaction forces, increased knee abduction angle and moment (dynamic valgus), reduced knee flexion during landing and excessive hip adduction/internal rotation.

Clinical and radiological results of allogenous bone graft versus synthetic calcium‐phosphate graft in opening wedge high tibial osteotomy

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Orthopaedics, Volume 13, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract Purpose To compare the clinical and radiographic data after opening wedge high tibial osteotomy (OWHTO) using an allogenous bone graft versus a tricalcium phosphate (TCP) graft. Methods This prospective clinical study enroled 42 patients (84 knees) between September 2022 and March 2023, undergoing bilateral OWHTO for genu varum.

Effects of total knee arthroplasty on ankle alignment in patients with varus gonarthrosis : do we sacrifice ankle to the knee? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Total knee arthroplasty is one of the most commonly preferred surgical methods in the treatment of patients with varus gonarthrosis. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the radiological changes observed in the ankles after total knee arthroplasty ...

Proximal Tibial Epiphyseal Injury in a 14‐Year‐Old Asian Male With Vitamin D Deficiency as a Possible Cause: A Case Report

open access: yesCase Reports in Orthopedics, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
We report a case of a 14‐year‐old Asian male who presented with a Salter–Harris Type II injury of the proximal tibial epiphysis and a fibular fracture following a minor mechanism of injury. The patient was emergency transported to our hospital with complaints of pain and flexion deformity around the left knee following a contusion.
