An expanded phylogeny for the genus Phytophthora

open access: yesIMA Fungus, 2017
A comprehensive phylogeny representing 142 described and 43 provisionally named Phytophthora species is reported here for this rapidly expanding genus. This phylogeny features signature sequences of 114 ex-types and numerous authentic isolates that were ...

Enumeration of Genus-Two Curves with a Fixed Complex Structure in P^2 and P^3 [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2002
We express the genus-two fixed-complex-structure enumerative invariants of P^2 and P^3 in terms of the genus-zero enumerative invariants. The approach is to relate each genus-two fixed-complex-structure enumerative invariant to the corresponding symplectic invariant.

FAIR and Structured Data: A Domain Ontology Aligned with Standard‐Compliant Tensile Testing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The digitalization in materials science and engineering is discussed, emphasizing the importance of digital workflows and ontologies in managing diverse experimental data. Challenges such as quality assurance and data interoperability are tackled with semantic web technologies, focusing and introducing the tensile test ontology (TTO).

Singular elliptic genus of normal surfaces [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2007
We define the singular elliptic genus for arbitrary normal surfaces, prove that it is a birational invariant, and show that it generalizes the singular elliptic genus of Borisov and Libgober and the stringy $\chi_y$ genus of Batyrev and Veys.

Non-Gaussian Signatures in the Temperature Fluctuation Observed by the Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe

open access: yes, 2004
We present results from a test for the Gaussianity of the whole sky sub-degree scale CMB temperature anisotropy measured by the Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe (WMAP).

Semantic Representation of Low‐Cycle‐Fatigue Testing Data Using a Fatigue Test Ontology and ckan.kupferdigital Data Management System

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article introduces an automated approach for converting the raw research data (use case of low‐cycle‐fatigue testing dataset) to machine‐readable resource description framework ones and storing them in an open digital repository. As two main prerequisites for this data digitalization process, the development of fatigue testing ontology and ckan ...

Counting quintic fields with genus number one [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
We prove several results concerning genus numbers of quintic fields: we compute the proportion of quintic fields with genus number one; we prove that a positive proportion of quintic fields have arbitrarily large genus number; and we compute the average genus number of quintic fields.

Concepts for a Semantically Accessible Materials Data Space: Overview over Specific Implementations in Materials Science

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This manuscript presents advances in digital transformation within materials science and engineering, emphasizing the role of the MaterialDigital Initiative. By testing and applying concepts such as ontologies, knowledge graphs, and integrated workflows, it promotes semantic interoperability and data‐driven innovation. The article reviews collaborative

Systematic Review of Chemical Constituents in the Genus Lycium (Solanaceae)

open access: yesMolecules, 2017
The Lycium genus is widely used as a traditional Chinese medicine and functional food. Many of the chemical constituents of the genus Lycium were reported previously.

The unirationality of the moduli space of curves of genus $\leq 14$ [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2004
The new result is the unirationality of the moduli space of curves of genus 14. The method applies to lower genus.
