Feeding of lingGenypterus blacodes(Bloch & Schneider) from 4 New Zealand offshore fishing grounds
New Zealand Journal of Marine and Freshwater Research, 1984Abstract The stomach contents of 539 ling (Genypterus blacodes) from the Chatham Rise, Campbell Plateau‐Pukaki Rise, West Coast, South Island, and various North Island positions were examined. Frequency of occurrence, numbers present, and volumetric importance of prey were calculated.

Thirty eight allozyme loci were examined in orange and pink morphs of pink ling ( Genypterus blacodes ) and in rock ling ( G. tigerinus ). Six of the loci were species-diagnostic. No differences were observed between the orange and pink morphs, which appear to be the juvenile and adult forms respectively of pink ling.
