Morphology and tectonics of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, 7°–12°S
We present swath bathymetric, gravity, and magnetic data from the Mid-Atlantic Ridge between the Ascension and the Bode Verde fracture zones, where significant ridge–hot spot interaction has been inferred.

East African topography and volcanism explained by a single, migrating plume [PDF]
Anomalous topographic swells and Cenozoic volcanism in east Africa have been associated with mantle plumes. Several models involving one or more fixed plumes beneath the northeastward migrating African plate have been suggested to explain the space-time ...

Notable Impact of Paleotectonic Stress on Gold Mineralisation in the West Qinling Orogen
By applying fuzzy clustering and multiple inverse methods, we systematically processed the data of vein and fault slip in this ore deposit to reveal the transition of orogenic geological environment and paleotectonic stress field. Our research results show two different stress states: the northwest–southeast extensional stress field and the northeast ...

The mathematical formulation· of a one-dimensional, finite-difference compositional simulator is given in this work. The model assumes thermodynamic equilibrium between flowing electrolyte solutions and stationary mineral assemblages, and solves for the mineral identities and compositions and aqueous compositions as a function of both time and position.

This study reports the exceptional preservation of the Eocene freshwater bivalve Batissa sitakaraensis from Hokkaido, Japan. Multimodal analyses reveal that both the aragonitic shell mineralogy and the delicate organic periostracum retain their original structural and chemical characteristics after millions of years.

Models of Geochemical Speciation: Structure and Applications
Being able to predict the behavior of trace elements in the environment is crucial for environmental risk assessment studies. For this reason, modeling, in addition to experimental methods, has become an indispensable tool to better understand the (bio)-geochemistry of trace elements and the processes involved in their availability, transport and ...

Integrated petrographic, mineralogical and geochemical data from the Hastanetepe Pb–Zn deposit (Balya, Türkiye) reveal multi‐stage hydrothermal alteration and a magmatic sulphur source. Fluid inclusion and sulphur isotope results indicate a complex fluid evolution responsible for skarn‐type Pb–Zn mineralization along limestone–dacite contacts ...

During the in-situ leaching process of uranium, both the chemical composition of the leaching solution and the in-situ hydrogeochemical conditions can affect the chemical speciation of uranium. The chemical speciation of uranium significantly impacts its

Modeling nitrogen loading in a small watershed in southwest China using a DNDC model with hydrological enhancements [PDF]
The degradation of water quality has been observed worldwide, and inputs of nitrogen (N), along with other nutrients, play a key role in the process of contamination.
