Coral Paleoclimate Perspectives Support the Role of Low‐Latitude Forcing on the 4.2 ka BP Event
The 4.2 ka BP Event is an abrupt climate change that might have contributed to the collapse of ancient civilizations and marks the transition between the mid‐ and late‐Holocene.

Silicate rock weathering and atmospheric/soil CO2 uptake in the Amazon basin estimated from river water geochemistry: seasonal and spatial variations [PDF]
Using the data of the CAMREX project (1982–1984) on the water geochemistry of the Amazon river and its main tributaries, it was possible to assess the silicate rock weathering processes and the associated consumption of atmospheric/soil CO2, taking into

The lacustrine Gördes Supradetachment Basin was developed along the Simav detachment fault during postorogenic extension in the north of the Menderes Massif in western Anatolia. The basin‐fill succession is represented by alluvial fan, Gilbert‐type delta, shoal‐water delta, foreshore, shoreface, offshore‐transition and peat‐forming mire deposits.

Ultrafast core-to-core luminescence in BaF2 - LaF3 single crystals
This study investigates the mechanisms underlying the ultrafast cross-luminescence observed in BaF2 crystals doped with LaF3. We identified an ultrafast luminescent component with a decay time of approximately 150 ps, which emerges under excitation ...

Jarosite versus Soluble Iron-Sulfate Formation and Their Role in Acid Mine Drainage Formation at the Pan de Azúcar Mine Tailings (Zn-Pb-Ag), NW Argentina [PDF]
Secondary jarosite and water-soluble iron-sulfate minerals control the composition of acid mine waters formed by the oxidation of sulfide in tailings impoundments at the (Zn-Pb-Ag) Pan de Azúcar mine located in the Pozuelos Lagoon Basin (semi-arid ...

X‐ray CT and microscopic analysis of glaciogenic mud provide insight into the deposits of sediment‐laden density flows and reveal that strata comprise two microtextural motifs. The deposits of bottom‐hugging hyperpycnal flows and slope‐failure‐related turbidity currents are characterised by laterally continuous, sharply bounded silt‐rich and clay‐rich ...
