Jacobi fields in geodesic surface congruences

open access: yes, 2017
Using the Nambu-Goto string action in the space of the surfaces spanned by closed strings in a spacetime manifold, we investigated the geodesic surface equation in the space of surfaces joining two given strings and the geodesic surface deviation ...

Mesh Processing Non‐Meshes via Neural Displacement Fields

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract Mesh processing pipelines are mature, but adapting them to newer non‐mesh surface representations—which enable fast rendering with compact file size—requires costly meshing or transmitting bulky meshes, negating their core benefits for streaming applications.

Geodesic packing in graphs

open access: yes, 2023
Given a graph $G$, a geodesic packing in $G$ is a set of vertex-disjoint maximal geodesics, and the geodesic packing number of $G$, ${\gpack}(G)$, is the maximum cardinality of a geodesic packing in $G$.

LeafFit: Plant Assets Creation from 3D Gaussian Splatting

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract We propose LeafFit, a pipeline that converts 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) of individual plants into editable, instanced mesh assets. While 3DGS faithfully captures complex foliage, its high memory footprint and lack of mesh topology make it incompatible with traditional game production workflows. We address this by leveraging the repetition of

Some Properties of Geodesic Strongly E-b-vex Functions

open access: yesInternational Journal of Analysis and Applications, 2019
Geodesic E-b-vex sets and geodesic E-b-vex functions on a Riemannian manifold are extended to the so called geodesic strongly E-b-vex sets and geodesic strongly E-b-vex functions. Some basic properties of geodesic strongly E-b-vex sets are also studied.

Geodesic equations in black hole space-times with cosmological constant

open access: yes, 2010
The physics of a gravitational field can be explored by studying the geodesic motion of test particles and light. Although the majority of gravitational effects can be discussed using approximations and numerics, a systematic study of all effects can ...

VQ‐Style: Disentangling Style and Content in Motion with Residual Quantized Representations

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract Human motion data is inherently rich and complex, containing both semantic content and subtle stylistic features that are challenging to model. We propose a novel method for effective disentanglement of the style and content in human motion data to facilitate style transfer.

Survey on differential estimators for 3d point clouds

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract Recent advancements in 3D scanning technologies, including LiDAR and photogrammetry, have enabled the precise digital replication of real‐world objects. These methods are widely used in fields such as GIS, robotics, and cultural heritage. However, the point clouds generated by such scans are often noisy and unstructured, posing challenges for ...

Variational characterization of interior interfaces in phase transition models on convex plane domains

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2003
We consider the singularly perturbed Allen-Cahn equation on a strictly convex plane domain. We show that when the perturbation parameter tends to zero there are solutions having a transition layer that tends to a straight line segment.

Non‐Rigid 3D Shape Correspondences: From Foundations to Open Challenges and Opportunities

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract Estimating correspondences between deformed shape instances is a long‐standing problem in computer graphics; numerous applications, from texture transfer to statistical modelling, rely on recovering an accurate correspondence map. Many methods have thus been proposed to tackle this challenging problem from varying perspectives, depending on ...
