A tutorial on Bayesian model averaging for exponential random graph models

open access: yesBritish Journal of Mathematical and Statistical Psychology, EarlyView.
Abstract The use of exponential random graph models (ERGMs) is becoming prevalent in psychology due to their ability to explain and predict the formation of edges between vertices in a network. Valid inference with ERGMs requires correctly specifying endogenous and exogenous effects as network statistics, guided by theory, to represent the network ...

Solutions to the direct and inverse navigation problems on the great ellipse

open access: yesJournal of Geodetic Science, 2012
The Great Ellipse (GE) is the curve of intersection between the surface and a plane through the center of an ellipsoid. For arcs within a few thousands of kilometres it agrees within a few metres with the geodesic.

SDFs from Unoriented Point Clouds using Neural Variational Heat Distances

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
We propose a novel variational approach for computing neural Signed Distance Fields (SDF) from unoriented point clouds. We first compute a small time step of heat flow (middle) and then use its gradient directions to solve for a neural SDF (right). Abstract We propose a novel variational approach for computing neural Signed Distance Fields (SDF) from ...

Geodetic numbers of tensor product and lexicographic product of graphs

open access: yesAKCE International Journal of Graphs and Combinatorics
A shortest [Formula: see text]-[Formula: see text] path between two vertices u and v of a graph G is a [Formula: see text]-[Formula: see text] geodesic of G.

Density dependence and habitat selection affect overwintering abundance of monarch butterflies at regional and site scales in California

open access: yesConservation Science and Practice, EarlyView.
We analyzed annual overwintering counts in California to understand monarch population fluctuations. Climate and density‐dependent factors explain 64% of annual variability across groves, with density dependence being the primary driver. Within groves, tree characteristics and microclimate significantly influence monarch habitat selection, with ...

Demonstration of an instream flow model to accommodate a threatened tiger beetle in riverine dune habitat

open access: yesInsect Conservation and Diversity, EarlyView.
Burrows of the threatened Gibson's Big Sand Tiger Beetle in riverine dune habitats are susceptible to flooding through managed flows. HEC‐RAS modelling identified the flow thresholds above which flooding would occur for burrows and affect the beetle larvae. These findings provide instream flow guidelines for conserving this threatened species and guide

Establishment and validation of a hair fall atlas for Chinese men based on trichoscopy

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cosmetic Science, EarlyView.
A new hair fall atlas with 7 scales is established and validated and ready to publish as a new methodology. We observed good consistency between the dermatologists' grading (PCC >0.8), and a strong correlation shown between clinical scores and hair fall attributes based on image analysis (|p| > 0.8).

Rethinking network embeddedness in international business: A review and view in space and time

open access: yesInternational Journal of Management Reviews, EarlyView.
Abstract Conceptual and empirical contributions to network embeddedness have flourished in the last decades within the field of international business (IB). Scholars have used the concept to explain IB phenomena through the lens of business actors’ network relationships and positions in their networks.

THE UPPER OPEN GEODETIC NUMBER OF A GRAPH [PDF]

open access: yesZbornik Radova Ekonomskog Fakulteta u Istočnom Sarajevu, 2012
For a connected graph G of ordern, a set S of vertices of G is a geodetic set of G ifeach vertex n of G lies on a x-y geodesic for someelements x and y in S.
