The coevolution of board interlock networks and corporate strategic actions
Abstract Research Summary Studies on board interlock networks are divided into two streams, one examining their dynamics; the other, their consequences. We propose that both phenomena—board interlock dynamics and consequences—are interdependent. Applying structuration theory, we explain and empirically demonstrate how firms' corporate strategic actions

SemanticMesh: parameterized fusion of semantic components for photogrammetric meshes
The façades of photogrammetric building mesh models frequently lack detailed semantics, such as windows, doors, and balconies. To address this, we introduce SemanticMesh, a methodology designed to enrich façades with detailed semantics by integrating ...

Abstract The decisive reinforcement of thick concrete members is often determined by the minimum reinforcement for crack control due to restraint stresses. In contrast to the heuristic design model in Eurocode 2, a mechanically sound methodology is only provided if the deformation compatibility is considered.

Associations between brain structure and body mass index (BMI) are increasingly gaining attention. Although BMI-related regional alterations in brain morphology have been previously reported, the effect of BMI on the microstructural profiles, which ...

Information Geometry of Nonlinear Stochastic Systems
We elucidate the effect of different deterministic nonlinear forces on geometric structure of stochastic processes by investigating the transient relaxation of initial PDFs of a stochastic variable x under forces proportional to -xn (n=3,5,7) and ...

A new smooth failure criterion for concrete inspired by Lubliner's condition
Abstract A new failure criterion with 10 parameters is proposed, based on Lubliner's idea of joining two Drucker–Prager cones. The novelty lies in the way of introducing deviatoric shape variation: through two Podgórski's functions. This feature allows for improving plane stress cross‐section's compatibility with experimental data.

This paper explicates a solution to building correspondences between molecular-scale transcriptomics and tissue-scale atlases. This problem arises in atlas construction and cross-specimen/technology alignment where specimens per emerging technology ...

Application of the Modulus of Continuity in Characterizing Geodesics
Introduction This paper concerns an application of the modulus of continuity in characterizing geodesics. The modulus of continuity of a continuous function between metric spaces is a two variable function which assigns to each point and to each positive
