This study critically re-evaluates traditional linear geometric models used to interpret the spatial distribution of archaeological sites relative to stellar patterns, as these models frequently neglect Earth’s curvature and planar projection distortions.

Fast geodesic saliency map for Infrared Imagery
2015 23nd Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference (SIU), 2015In this work, a saliency map calculation method for Infrared Imagery has been proposed and the resulting map is used for segmentation of the salient objects in the image. The proposed method exploits the geodesic distance concept and computational complexity is much less than the similar methods.
