Precise geodesy with the Very Long Baseline Array [PDF]
We report on a program of geodetic measurements between 1994 and 2007 which used the Very Long Baseline Array and up to 10 globally distributed antennas. One of the goals of this program was to monitor positions of the array at a 1 millimeter level of accuracy and to tie the VLBA into the International Terrestrial Reference Frame.

Deep Short‐Term Slow Slip and Tremor in the Manawatu Region, New Zealand
The Manawatu region experiences deep tremor and long‐term slow slip events (SSEs); however, tremor is adjacent to, and not co‐located with, long‐term SSEs. Observations of episodic tremor and slip (ETS) elsewhere suggest it is possible smaller short‐term

Documentation of landslides and inaccessible parts of a mine using an unmanned uav system and methods of digital terrestrial photogrammetry [PDF]
Quite a big boom has recently been experienced in the technology of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). In conjunction with dense matching system, it gives one a powerful tool for the creation of digital terrain models and orthophotomaps.

Abstract Purpose This study quantitatively evaluates bladder changes and their dosimetric impact during the on‐couch adaptive process on a commercial CBCT‐based online adaptive radiotherapy (CT‐gART) platform. Methods Data from 183 fractions of ten patients receiving online ART for pelvic cancers were analyzed retrospectively.

Intensification of Alkaline Electrolyzer with Improved Two‑Phase Flow
Porous nickel‐type electrodes with low tortuosity are fabricated and their role in reducing the capillary pressure, bubble point, and ohmic resistance, which led to lower energy loss and higher current densities and efficiencies is investigated. The cell delivers a current density of 2 A cm−2 at ≈2 V.

Seafloor crustal deformation data along the subduction zones around Japan obtained by GNSS-A observations [PDF]
Crustal deformation data obtained by geodetic observation networks are foundations in the fields of geodesy and seismology. These data are essential for understanding plate motion and earthquake sources and for simulating earthquake and tsunami disasters.

We estimated the future distribution of alpine and subalpine vegetation types under climate change in the Taisetsu Mountains, Daisetsuzan National Park, Hokkaido (northern Japan). Under the RCP2.6 scenario, habitats suitable for snowbeds and alpine heathland/fellfield drastically decreased overall.
