Synchrotron Radiation for Quantum Technology

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Materials and interfaces underpin quantum technologies, with synchrotron and FEL methods key to understanding and optimizing them. Advances span superconducting and semiconducting qubits, 2D materials, and topological systems, where strain, defects, and interfaces govern performance.

Geodetic measurement of distances in athletics

open access: yesGeodetski vestnik, 2014
Geodetic measurements are indispensable beyond the borders of surveying technical tasks. In this paper, the usefulness of geodesy in the measurement of sport results is described for throwing events, in accordance with the rules accepted by the IAAF.

TreeSpider: In‐Canopy Exploration With Tether‐Based Aerial Modular Arms

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A tethered drone with perching arms and a 360° ring enables unprecedented maneuverability within dense forest canopies. By dynamically adjusting tether length and decoupling pitch from the frame, it navigates between branches, senses multiple trees, and interacts physically with foliage.

The results of geodetic measurements of the mass balance of some glaciers in the Zailiyskiy Alatau (Trans-Ili Alatau)

open access: yesЛëд и снег, 2023
SummaryThe current state and mass balance of some glaciers of the Trans-Ili Alatau (Zailiyskiy Alatau, Tien Shan, Kazakhstan) is estimated in the paper. The remote sensing data (images of the Pléiades satellites) and detailed field geodetic measurements (

Sleep Alters the Velocity of Physiological Brain Pulsations in Humans

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Sleep alters I/CSF oscillatory flow, driven by increased respiratory (29%) and vasomotor pulsation (21%) velocities, while cardiovascular pulsations decreased by (22%). Velocity is quantified using optical flow analysis of MREG data. Spectral power increases alongside these pulsations (spatial correlation, r = 0.35 and r = 0.39, respectively ...

Modified method of deformation analysis according to the Munich approach

open access: yesGeodetski Vestnik, 2023
Despite the technical progress monitoring the stability of engineering structures remains one of the most difficult tasks in engineering geodesy. This article presents the deformation analysis according to the Munich approach of W. M. Welsch.

Transient Antiskyrmion‐Mediated Topological Transitions in Isotropic Magnets

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A transient antiskyrmion‐mediated pathway that drives repeated stripe‐to‐skyrmion transitions is revealed, producing a net increase in topological charge in isotropic Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya interaction films. Experiments and simulations identify the antiskyrmion as a metastable excitation, enabling stochastic bitstream generation for probabilistic ...
