Extraction of building information using geographic object-based image analysis
2016 4th International Workshop on Earth Observation and Remote Sensing Applications (EORSA), 2016Geographic object-based image analysis (GEOBIA) is a useful method for image classification. This study aimed to find optimal parameters combination for extracting buildings using object-based image analysis. The images taken from two satellites Quickbird-2 and Gaofen (GF-1) were used to extract information of buildings in an urban area.

An intelligent vector agent processing unit for geographic object-based image analysis
2015 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (IGARSS), 2015The consideration of meaningful geographical objects instead of individual pixels is the main distinguishing characteristic of Geographic Object-Based Image Analysis (GEOBIA) methods. In this regard, meaningful geographical objects enable image analysis methods to consider extra information, such as geometry, texture and spatial relationships to ...

Geographic object-based image analysis and artificial neural networks for digital soil mapping
CATENA, 2021Abstract The use of techniques to calibrate soil prediction models based on legacy maps is restricted to areas where conventional survey and soil mapping were performed. It is necessary to seek alternatives to calibrate soil predictive models without a legacy soil map.

Winter Wheat Mapping Using Landsat 8 Images and Geographic Object-Based Image Analysis
Transactions of the ASABE, 2017Abstract. Winter wheat is a major food source in many areas, so it is necessary to construct an effective approach for its monitoring based on satellite data. By taking advantage of geographic object-based image analysis (GEOBIA), a winter wheat classification framework was established.

Assessment of Wildfire Risk in Lebanon Using Geographic Object-Based Image Analysis
Photogrammetric Engineering & Remote Sensing, 2015Abstract During the past decade, Lebanon has experienced a large number of severe wildfires that have had significant social and ecological consequences. In this context, the assessment of wildfire risk is important to support planning of fire prevention measures and risk mitigation.

Classification of Soil Types Using Geographic Object-Based Image Analysis and Random Forests
Pedosphere, 2018Abstract There is increasing interest for developing automatic procedures for landscape segmentation into soil spatial entities, aiming at replacing conventional, expensive manual procedures for delineating and classifying soils. Geographic object based image analysis (GEOBIA) emerged as a solution to partition remote sensing imagery or digital ...
