Connections for geogrid systems
Geotextiles and Geomembranes, 1990Abstract A general discussion on connection types for geogrid reinforcement systems is presented. The various mechanical and frictional methods for connecting geogrid to geogrid, and geogrid to a structural element are defined in general terms. Basic design guidelines are recommended to assure connection integrity for geogrid reinforcement systems.

Model geogrids and 3D printing
Geotextiles and Geomembranes, 2017Abstract This paper summarizes the technical aspects of using 3D printing to fabricate small model geogrids for geotechnical experiments, with the aim of scaling their geometry and tensile behavior under operational conditions, say up to 5% strain. Specifically, we successfully fabricated model geogrids with one-hundredth of the tensile strength of ...

Geogrid-Reinforced Low-Volume Flexible Pavements: Pavement Response and Geogrid Optimal Location
Journal of Transportation Engineering, 2012AbstractThis article discusses the geogrid’s potential to reduce granular base shear flow. Researchers have previously acknowledged the geogrid’s potential to enhance the performance of roadways, but this study goes further to (1) investigate the effectiveness of a geogrid when it is used to reinforce low-volume conventional flexible pavements ...

Tensile strength freeze-thaw durability of a biaxial geogrid and wicking geogrid composite
Geosynthetics InternationalA relatively new geosynthetic material, known as a wicking geogrid composite, consists of a biaxial geogrid bonded to a nonwoven wicking geotextile. This system offers dual functionality by providing structural reinforcement while simultaneously managing moisture in both saturated and unsaturated conditions.

Tensile Strength and Clamping of Geogrids
2000Through the development and application of high strength geosyntetics, the problem of clamping during the tensile test has become an important theme. The construction of clamping systems is decisive for obtaining a value as close as possible to true tensile strength.
