This research explored how Caribbean restaurants and takeaways used signage to advertise to the superdiverse Ladywood constituency of Birmingham. The study used Multimodal Discourse Analysis (MDA), following Kress and Van Leeuwen’s (2006) Visual Grammar Framework, to analyse the signage as a form of visual communication.
