Twitter Geolocation

open access: yesACM Transactions on Knowledge Discovery from Data, 2018
Geotagging Twitter messages is an important tool for event detection and enrichment. Despite the availability of both social media content and user network information, these two features are generally utilized separately in the methodology. In this article, we create a hybrid method that uses Twitter content and network information jointly as model ...

A Method for Spaceborne SAR Geolocation Based on Continuously Moving Geometry

open access: yesLeida xuebao, 2013
Geolocation is a very important step in Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) data processing. The precision of geolocation severely affects the applications of SAR images. This paper analyzes the influences on SAR geolocation caused by the traditional “stop-go”

Tweet Geolocation

open access: yesProceedings of the 2017 ACM on Conference on Information and Knowledge Management, 2017
Which venue is a tweet posted from? We referred this as fine-grained geolocation. To solve this problem effectively, we develop novel techniques to exploit each posting user's content history. This is motivated by our finding that most users do not share their visitation history, but have ample content history from tweet posts.

City-Level IP Geolocation Algorithm Based on PoP Network Topology

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
The existing city-level IP geolocation algorithms determine the location of IP by delay measurement and landmark comparison, and thus, the geolocation ability of these algorithms is affected by the delay precision and the number of landmarks.

Towards Real-Time, Country-Level Location Classification of Worldwide Tweets [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In contrast to much previous work that has focused on location classification of tweets restricted to a specific country, here we undertake the task in a broader context by classifying global tweets at the country level, which is so far unexplored in a ...

Earth Polychromatic Imaging Camera Geolocation; Strategies to Reduce Uncertainty

open access: yesFrontiers in Remote Sensing, 2021
Earth Polychromatic Imaging Camera occupies a unique point of view for an Earth imager by being located approximately 1.5 million km from the planet at Earth-Sun Lagrange point, L1. This creates a number of unique challenges in geolocation, some of which
