ABSTRACT The Pletmos sub‐basin in the Outeniqua Basin, offshore South Africa, is divided by the Superior, Pletmos and Plettenberg faults into northern and southern depocentres. In this study, geological and organic geochemical data together with 1D basin modelling were used to investigate the burial, thermal and maturation histories, and the timing of ...

Crystallization of dmisteinbergite (hexagonal CaAl2Si2O8) from type B CAI analog melt
Abstract Dmisteinbergite is a metastable polymorph of CaAl2Si2O8, which has been found in calcium−aluminum‐rich inclusions (CAIs) in chondrites, although anorthite is the predominant CaAl2Si2O8 phase in natural type B CAIs. The occurrence/absence of igneous dmisteinbergite would put tighter constraints on the thermal history of CAIs.

ABSTRACT Although the global expansion of oxygen‐depleted marine environments during the Early Toarcian Jenkyns Event (or Toarcian Oceanic Anoxic Event) is primarily inferred from successions in the NW European epicontinental basins, the timing of the expansion of anoxia in Tethyan basins, where hydrography potentially played a minor role, is poorly ...
