Application of terrain analysis to the mapping and spatial pattern analysis of subsurface geological fractures of Kuala Lumpur limestone bedrock, Malaysia. [PDF]
Subsurface geological fractures in karst terrain are often associated with unpredictable environmental and geotechnical engineering problems. This requires precise mapping and an understanding of the distribution of geological fractures on multi-scales ...

Through Diamond Robust Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy
Thin film diamond growth offers a unique opportunity for Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS); the encapsulation of plasmonic nanostructures within a transparent, chemically stable, and physically robust coating. The diamond acts as both a window and protective layer, enabling illumination of the plasmonic nanostructures through the diamond ...

Liquid‐phase transmission electron microscopy enables direct observation of nucleation and growth processes in solution. This review is dedicated to the remembrance of Helmut Cölfen and highlights recent studies on complex materials—oxides, biominerals, organic–inorganic crystals—which were central to his research activity. It summarizes key milestones,

With a charge‐ion coupling engineering strategy, a K+/vacancy disordered K0.5Mn0.8Co0.1Ti0.1O2 material has been designed. The targeted transition metal doping disrupts charge ordering and inducing K+/vacancy disordering, thereby enabling rapid K+ diffusion through interconnected channels and a stable solid‐solution reaction mechanism.

Benefits of a 3D geological model for major tunnelling works : an example from Farringdon, east-central London, UK [PDF]
In the design of major construction works, the better the ground conditions are known, the more control there is on the assessment of risks for construction, contract and personnel, and ultimately on final costs. Understanding of the ground conditions is
