Drone brings new advance of geological mapping in Mongolia: Opportunities and challenges

open access: yesMongolian Geoscientist, 2018
Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) or drones have revolutionized scientific research in multiple fields. Drones provide us multiple advantages over conventional geological mapping or high-altitude remote sensing methods, in which they allow us to acquire ...

Bioinspired Microreactor for Iodide Adsorption and Photooxidation Recovery

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A bioinspired micro‐ionic‐reactor based on porous organic polymer (MIR‐POP) integrates rapid iodide capture with in situ photooxidative conversion, achieving record uptake capacity and high uptake efficiencies in simulated mining wastewater and natural brine. This bioinspired microreactor strategy offers a new avenue for sustainable iodine recovery and

DC‐magnetometry Analytical Tool Driven by Spin Ordering Phenomena for Sensing Chemical Interactions at the Surface of Nanomaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The adsorption of AsV on akaganeite nanorods was found to provide a magnetic signature. A change in the surface spin order gave rise to a second peak in the zero‐field cooled curve. AsIII adsorption does not provide any change in the magnetic behavior of the sorbent.

Highly Efficient Extraction of 212 Pb/212Bi from the Decay Chain of 232Th‐Based on Anion Exchange in Bromide Medium

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work provides an effective strategy for selectively extracting 212Pb and 212Bi from the decay chain of 232Th as well as its mechanism illustration. Using the novel strategy, 2.07 MBq of 212Pb is successfully separated from 232Th and its daughters, which enables the supply of 212Pb/212Bi directly from the abundant natural thorium resource to be ...

Derivation of Strike and Dip in Sedimentary Terrain Using 3D Image Interpretation Based on Airborne LiDAR Data

open access: yesTerrestrial, Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences, 2014
Traditional geological mapping may be hindered by rough terrain and dense vegetation resulting in obscured geological details. The advent of airborne Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) provides a very precise three-dimensional (3D) digital terrain model
